Victrix has been showing off some of the new miniatures that are coming your way for the Ancient and Dark Age Historical wargames out there. We start with a few more previews of their Late Roman Armoured Infantry.

Late Roman Armoured Infantry #1 - Victrix

The focus is going to be on designing a selection of miniatures dressed in chainmail as well as a few in scale armour too. The heads will then allow you to make a set of Romans, Romano-British warriors or perhaps even Germanic auxiliary who have been brought into the fold.

As you can see, there is going to be a selection of different weapon options with spears and shields being in abundance. You've also got swords and axes in the mix as well. There is also going to be a command/character frame included within the set that can be combined with the forthcoming Unarmoured Late Romans.

This is looking like a really nice set that offers up a lot of different options. You could use these to represent the Late Romans fighting for control of a shattered empire or Romano-British soldiers trying to keep out invading Saxons on the forgotten frontier.

I also like the idea of introducing them alongside a more Germanic force or maybe even going down the route of using them as the Goths battering at the gates of the Empire. It is certainly looking like a fun option for those who like this period of history.

Norman Cavalry Release

As well as the upcoming Late Roman release, there is also going to be the release of the new Norman Cavalry this Friday. They have been long-awaited by Dark Age wargamers for a while now!

Pre-orders will be available over the weekend offering up plenty of different options for wargamers. So, if you're ready to dive in and start your invasion of Britain during 1066 then you now have plenty of heavily armoured options.
