yes
posting the weekender and replying and pretending to be first, for shame, for shame.
Are you insider trading Gerry???
Second yea!
always good to be the first one, sorry avernos, you are 2nd
don’t believe everything that you read,… or in some cases write
“The 15 mm stuff” at 8:23 are actually miniatures from DEMONWORLD produced by Ral Partha Europe. It’s actually a real fun game, both the modern and especially the classic version.
Happy Weekender All. I’m one very happy camper having won last weeks Tobruk starter set, Big Thanks for that everyone. Spent my morning chasing down half a greenhouse I’d only just put up this week. It has actually Gone With The Wind and is likely in Gower by now. Spent the afternoon figuring out how I’m going to salvage what’s left SO the Tobruk set was a great surprise end to lift a sucky day ?
Good Evening all as I settle down to some mini painting with Prof Gerry and the crew… roll VT. ?
Yahoo! 3 more minis painted for my D&D fantasy blog… ?
its weekender time, i hope everyone is safe and comfy in there abode, watching the greatest movie ever made sipping a cool drink or warm what ever is your preference, except for @ben. Fuck @ben, he knows what he did.
Love Iliada and the stuff they do. Been admiring it for a few years. I think its the only wargame company I know that’s based in Turkey
Yay its weekender time.
MDF= plastic wood.
love the star trek ship Discovery?
spice harvester?
i do love the map books an the new cards a fab additive.
brill show troops.
trying to improve your chances to win ? 😉
No i just add a few posts if I have things to say been doing that for year’s now.
Great show guy! Would love it if you could bring back the Flames of War for the Win series.
yes … that was the show that got me into Beasts of War as it was called.
(why am I feeling old now? ) 😉
KoW has been the coolest for quite some time. Fell in love with the game years ago
Clash of Katanas or Saga Age of Samurai… great thing to paint your Clan War box set up for using the latest and greatest of Army Painter speed paints. Then again there are Kickstarters to fund for more stretch goals.
Sorry, but I’d has to disagree with Gerry on having Infantry in the Flame of War Starter Armies. There a few key things that happen during engagements in NA (unless you decide to ignore them which BattleFront is want to do from time to time). Number one is MINEFIELDS (unless you attempt to blow your way through them just using artillery in the box sets), key to clearing these is your humble infantry and engineers. But the main thing is getting players (particularly new players to the game) used to using infantry and playing a combined arms style of game.… Read more »
I didn’t say it was a full army, but they are starter box sets to be added to. I stand by my comment that the game is easier to learn with armour and then infantry can be added after.
It would be nice to have infantry in starter sets, but I do think that they are the hardest part to learn.
As such I’d want a proper set of scenarios to teach the use of infantry/combined arms tactics inside those boxes as well.
Without those people are going to have a hard time discovering (a) how to not get them killed in the first turn and (b) how to shift them if they’re playing an opponent who does understand them.
These are starter sets in the literal meaning of the word : you need more stuff for the complete experience.
Spent a night on Osea Island for a work do, amazing place! Definitely could have a Cthulhu vibe!
Synthesize evidence??? Is free accusing Sherlock of faking evidence and being a fraud?
I think we’ve all seen Without a Clue to know the answer to that
Not for many years, but I might have to go find a copy right now. That was a good film
I’ve seen it on you tube
Last night I watched a movie with Ben Kingsley and another actor who had played Sherlock Holmes. An idiot actor had been hired to fool the world in to thinking he was an important, impressive, and unbeatable figure in the world of crime. Iron Man 3? No. Without A Clue. Dunno how no one’s mentioned the symmetry before.
Yes this is the best Kings of War starter set ever! I may finally get my group to buy in.
Make life easy,Gerry, pick me, I’m a scriber.
Happy Saturday.
I got that Monty Python shrubbery reference you made @avernos even if the others didn’t.
Billion Suns scale reference, nice.
That Loke Battlemats GM screen does look nice as a photo background. Is it A4 in heigh?
Both the roleplaying Kickstarters look interesting, although I’m more of a wargamer, haven’t roleplayed for a few years now.
27.5cm x 21.5cm per panel, so slightly shorter but slightly taller than A4
afternoon folks
Fire Forge games should do a Kickstarter for the orcs. They showed some great orc miniatures when they did the Kickstarter for the skeletons and humans. I would definitely get those!
the last dwarf kickstarter didn’t go well for them so probably going to focus on the historic for a while I think
