Inquisitors & Painbringers Previewed By Artel W Miniatures

Artel W Miniatures has been continuing to tinker away on all sorts of neat Sci-Fi miniatures for use in your alternative grimdark adventures. We start with an as-yet-named Inquisitor who is looking to hunt down some heretics.
Inquisitor // Artel W Miniatures
He might be a puritan reading from the good holy books of the Imperial Faith or he is a radical who has found some terrifying tome that has given him exceptional power. I do like the idea of radical Inquisitors who use the tools of the enemy for the benefit of the Imperium and its continued survival.
He is then guided by his very own Pythia (seer or oracle) who is looking great. A neat step up from the last piece we saw for her.
Pythia // Artel W Miniatures
I love the servo-skull guiding her because she has been blinded, either by her own "companions" or some terrible sight that she beheld when gazing deep into The Warp. A very cool option for those wanting to build an Inquisitorial warband.
Ancient Painbringers
As well as these enlightened souls of the Imperium, we also have learned masters that have existed for centuries deep in the void of space. See what you make of this Painbringer for your Drukhari/Dark Eldar forces.
Painmaster // Artel W Miniatures
A decidedly cruel and fascinating looking miniature that would be a perfect stand-in for your various Sci-Fi torturers. I love that he now almost floats above the surface thanks to the twisted creation that he has either grafted or socketed onto his back. You could just imagine him, shuffling across the battlefield towards you.
There is also this alternative version of the Painmaster on the way who comes mounted on some skittering legs!
Painmaster // Artel W Miniatures
I wouldn't want to be the poor wretch that has been grafted into the mechanical legs beneath him and forced to now do his bidding. I "like" to imagine that it's a Space Marine who was tortured and twisted, their physical prowess reduced to being used as a walking chair.
Nice (Ghostly) Space Elves?
As well as the Painmaster, we also got a look at the Ghostchantress for those playing as the nice Space Elves.

She could be a good way to build on the options for your Spirithosts on the tabletop. If you play Iyanden and you're on the lookout for a new Spirtseer then this might be worth considering. There is only one plastic miniature for that role currently so an alternative is always welcome!

That Inquisitor at the top reminds me of the cover art GW put out a few years ago for Inquisitor Czervak, the dude who Ahriman was hunting down as he was the only human known to have visited (and left) the Black Library. Admittedly it’s mainly the flashy coat and chromed bonce, but it’s a striking similarity.
Hmmm. Given Artel have now done at least 4 or 5 of the more notable Inquisitors from the 40k fiction, I wonder if they might tackle any others. I’m thinking DeFay from Warhammer Monthly’s Inquisitor strip, Covenant, Lilith et al…..
That would be spot on for sure – fancy cloak indeed!
Was he the manic Doctor Who fella?
The painmaster is Dr j mengele?
These are really cool models
