Nice two player starter box, and i`m with you John. Infantry in stead of the guns, failing that add another tank for the Germans. As for which faction would i go for, it would have to be the Germans.
Now heading over to watch the next unboxing.
Agree with john’s comments, infantry essential to Flames of war games so not having any makes this a less than ideal starter. Yes, tanks are fun but infantry keep you in the game.
starter scenario for both kasserine and tobruk would have been nice, i.e. american attack and german counterattack, while tobruck would have british attack and italian counterattack. maybe someone will figure out a scenario and post it to the project page.
Hit the Beach is an excellent and fun starter. Along with the Dropzone Commander starter the best starter box around for a miniatures game. I don’t though see the lack of infantry as a huge issue for both these sets. Sure it doesn’t quite give the full rounded experience of the game, but for newcomers that isn’t so detrimental. Infantry, field artillery and aircraft are the increasingly more complex additions to the combined arms FoW experience. From a learning/teaching perspective having tanks and AT guns is an easier entry point and infantry are easy to add on later. Not having… Read more »
