Just before the Christmas holiday I decided to spoil myself and pick up Nathaniel Garro and utilize my Warhammer TV voucher.

Preparing the model for the undercoatPreparing the model for the undercoat

The Rocks

Using multiple thin coats apply Citadel Steel Legion Drab. I used about three to four coats and still had to apply it in some spot areas.

Then apply a heavy coat of Citadel Agrax Earthshade thinned with a little water but try to use as much pure wash as possible. Allow it to pool in some areas but not others. This will cause it to look as natural as possible.

Then use a heavy coat of drybrushing on Citadel Steel Legion Drab all over.

Apply a lighter coat of Citadel Karak Stone with drybrushing.

Finally drybrush on Citadel Screaming Skull focusing on the edges of the rocks.

Steel Beams

Base the beams with Citadel Leadbelcher and then wash with Citadel Agrax Earthshade.

Pick out the edges of the beams with a chunky highlight of Citadel Ironbreaker.  Highlighting again but thinner with Citadel Stormhost silver.

Then dilute Citadel Troll Slayer Orange so it has the consistency of a wash and paint it into the crevices allowing it to build up so that it looks like rust.

Demonic Skin

Paint the skin with Citadel Bugman’s Glow before washing with a 1:1 mix of Citadel Reikland Fleshshade and Citadel Lahmian Medium.

Highlight the skin with Citadel Cadian Fleshtone leaving the previous coat in the recesses.

Highlight again with Citadel Kislev Flesh.

Finally use a 1:2 mix of Citadel Athonian Camoshade and Citadel Lamian Medium in random splotches to make the skin look unhealthy.

Word Bearer Armor

Base the armor with Citadel Word Bearers Red.

Wash the recesses of the armor with Citadel Nuln Oil.

Clean up the overspill of the wash with Citadel Word Bearers Red before highlighting with Citadel Wazdakka Red.

Use an edge highlight of Citadel Squig Orange.

For the silver bits base them with Citadel Leadbelcher before washing with Citadel Nuln Oil and highlighting with Citadel Runefang Steel.

For the black armor base with Citadel Corvus Black and wash with Citadel Nuln Oil before highlighting with Citadel Eshin Grey.

Ultramarines Helmet Armor

Paint the helmet with Citadel Maccrage Blue.

Wash the recesses of the helmet with Citadel Nuln Oil and then clean up with Citadel Maccrage Blue.

Highlight the armor with Citadel Calgar Blue.
