nope, a very specific tool for specific jobs, but handy to have, I just wouldn’t replace a brush anytime soon
There very handy for 2mm figures
Noice.
Some excellent tips there!
I’ve been using the paint pen method for the bases of my Napoleonic Prussian Army and its by far the best way I’ve used, quick, simple and neat.
a good video Gerry got a paint pen set a few month’s back for this sort of thing when i get around to painting.
Another great ‘can’. ? I use Posca paint pens for base edging and they work a treat. Sometimes available in Hobbycraft if you have one of those near you. A mate of mine uses a white one for highlighting cross belts etc. on his 28mm Naps. I’ve found this a bit fiddly and not any easier than a brush, but he swears by it. Could be worth a try if you have a lot to do at one time. (Love the League of Gentlemen ref. at the end ?.)
oh that’s an idea, I do have a ton of white webbing to do… but I think I’m with you, not sure it would be much easier.
i’ve never bought any myself, but always wondered if they would be good for creating patterns on clothes, hawaiian shirts, tribal designs on cloth, flower patterns, etc…
before i spend my money does anyone have any experience??
I’ve tried and even with fine points paint application isn’t easy. If the surface is textured like creases in a short you’ll find you can’t get in to paint will a flexible brush could.
I still use micron pens for lines and some shapes but depending on the model you may find pens a hindrance
Very easy to scratch the paint you’ve already applied with some of the micron pens
certainly is, especially with the finer nibs they seem to be made out of diamond.
Need to test 0.7 mm paint pens for mini painting!!!
Good stuff. I’ve seen some of the metallic sharpie type pens used for edge highlighting. The firm nib of the pen helps keep the application very fine and where you want it.
Great Gerry Can and these look very useful.
I have an idea for a Gerry Can and thats how to paint denim to make it look like denim
