Fireteam Zero from Emergent Games Hits Kickstarter

A new project looking for funding on Kickstarter is a tactical board game called Fireteam Zero, from Emergent Games.
In this game you and the other players are a special mission team tasked with hunting down and destroying an artifact that has appeared during WWII and is taking advantage of the chaos of the war. This artifact has transformation powers that turn ordinary people into a hybrid monster that has the ability to spread its' "infection" to others. I guess you could say this is a Weird World War II setting and you are playing the monster hunter team. The core set is huge and I can only imagine what this box will weigh! In the core set you get 46 miniatures (28mm heroic scale) 8 double-sided map tiles, custom dice and over 300 cards and other pieces to complete the game. There are also two expansion packs planned that give you additional miniatures (40+) along with a huge assortment of add-ons.
There is also expanded rules available so that two different teams can be played at the same time and adds another dimension of difficulty and need for further planning on the players part. Obviously, it has a dungeon crawler aspect to it as you search for the lost artifact.
The renders look pretty good and I can see this game become one of those that grabs hold of you and won't let go, assuming the actual game play can hold the players attention over time. There are game play demos here, so check it out and see what you think and decide for yourself if this is something you want to jump into. Oh, did I mention it has already funded in it's first day?
I just might join up to fight this new terror, how about you?
Odd .. this has already been on ks and was funded as well .. surely its funding for expansions mainly?
shouldn’t be. They were funded as well. Dunno, but the makers did say all who backed before would get the new stuff
My understanding is that this is to fund a french language edition, after there was a lot of support for the game in France. Admittedly the page really doesn’t make that very clear.
Thanks for the heads up. I looked into it and yes they had a Kickstarter back in April which funded. From what I can decipher this was to assist in funding the French version. I found it in the last sentence in the paragraph. However, you can choose which version you want. Still looks like a pretty good deal.
