Mine Asteroids In Artipia’s New Board Game, Ceres
January 11, 2022 by brennon
Artipia Games are going to be heading to Kickstarter later this month with their new board game from Gustaf Sundström, Ceres. Get stuck into some asteroid mining and worker placement!
Ceres // Artipia Games
Ceres is going to be a one-to-four player worker placement game where you take on the role of a new Asteroid Mining Corporation. You are then going to be trying to outplay your opponents in order to rule Ceres.
As someone who has been watching a lot of The Expanse recently, this immediately caught my attention! Plays are going to choose from a number of different actions on their turn including launching mining probes, trading your materials, constructing and improving your core facilities and more.
You are also going to have ways to build up your research and work alongside the council on Mars so that you can exploit more of Ceres' resources.
Interestingly, Ceres is actually being worked on alongside an astrophysicist so that it is not only a fun board game but one that should feel pretty authentic and thematic too.
The Kickstarter is scheduled to launch in the near future so watch this space if this has caught your attention!

Ooh Connery’s Outland the game Nice.
Nice box art and that’s about all the information you get to see when you look at the actual page.
Looking at the pictures of their Essen Spiel booth they weren’t lacking for money though to pay for pretty but ultimately completely unnecessary props. No real need to take this to Kickstarter then apart from using it as a preorder service. Will have a look though when the campaign is up as there could be a good game here.
