The Umbrella Academy: The Board Game is going to be landing in the near future from the folks at Mantic Games. This continues their relationship with Dark Horse as they bring this comic book world to the tabletop.

Number Five - The Umbrella Academy

The team at Mantic Games will be joined by River Horse when it comes to designing the game. Alessio Cavatore and his team are going to be getting their mitts on the project and offering up a neat way to play out this fully cooperative board game.

One to five players will dive into the world designed by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá as they look to stop the apocalypse. You will need to work together to stop locations from being destroyed and battle deadly supervillains.

Space Boy - The Umbrella Academy

Space Boy // The Umbrella Academy: The Board Game

Fully cooperative has already got me interested. I really like the cooperative nature of Hellboy: The Board Game and it would be neat to continue that style of tabletop experience with The Umbrella Academy.

Of course, the game is also going to come with neat plastic miniatures. You've seen Number Five and Space Boy here but you'll also be able to snag Kraken, Rumour, Seance and more. Mantic do an exceptional job on their licenced miniatures in particular.

The Umbrella Academy: The Board Game is going to be coming to crowdfunding early this year. It is interesting that they didn't immediately say Kickstarter. Perhaps we'll see Mantic make the switch over to Gamefound?

Are you tempted to snap this up?
