It’s definitely interesting to see this kind of a mash up of historical and horror ideas
Can a players troops swap weapons between them?
That’s not in the rules. A cool idea though.
Nice Let’s Play.
Thanks for the look at solo play; there could be many solo games happening in the near (lock down) future.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the rest of the week, this is going to be good.
I really like what Mr McCullough produces.
Solo play… you monster want to make me buy in…
I shall resist … or at least long enough to know if I have won stuff or not 😉
What? There is stuff to be won? OH NOES!
yeah, but don’t worry … it’s not GW so you won’t 😉
Thanks.
I plan to try out the solo rules next when I’m off from work. I’m also? planning to put together a project, so I’ll do a battle report of my solo game.
Not having a regular gaming group games with solo play (and a strong community making scenarios) are a real hobby lifeline for me.
That was some awful dice rolling.
This is such an awesome setting. The gameplay videos I’ve seen look great.
Another winner from Joe, unsure about the D10 mechanic, perhaps a D8, not without the full rules I will just park it.
Just been playing solo Stargrave and glad to say that Silver Bayonet looks very different. Pieces of Rangers of Shadow Deep and Frostgrave for definite, but d10s not d20s, fate pool rerolls and the classes of soldiers all seem to make for great changes. I can imagine two player games playing out a bit like Walking Dead, where you have to deal with the undead menace first and then you pivot and start attacking your opponent. Should be a fun week.
There’s definitely more Rangers in the design of SB, with the use of Clue Markers and the card deck to drive scenarios. The fate dice and 2d10s are nice additions, with the latter reducing some of the randomness of the combat in Rangers and the ‘Grave game.
I could easily see someone using SB scenarios as a basis for making Rangers competitive rather than solo/co-op
I’m glad SB has it’s own feel and style.
Stargrave, being a Sci-Fi reskin of Frostgrave in many ways, is brilliant and was what people had been crying out for.
Silver Bayonet is new and looks great and well developed and it’s own ruleset.
If I complete my Quarantine 37 solo campaign and want more I will look at Frostgrave Perilous Dark and Dark Alchemy and see what crossover catches my eye. ?
Can’t wait to get this on the table. And of course, to lure in the rest of the club.
Great demo, I do like the mix of historical and fantastical!
A solo mode is always a welcomed addition for lone winter night play sessions.
That looks a hoot. I’d best get painting some monsters.
Happy monster hunting week!!!
Need to get a bit more Xmas prep out the way so I can give this a go in 10mm…
I’m a big fan of Mr McCullough’s games and it’s a period I’m quite fond of. I really like the tweaks to the “graves” system to make this it’s own thing.
If I get this game it’s an excuse to buy Napoleonic era games…
You need an excuse?
Only if I don’t wanna get disemboweled by the missus. And I like my bowels where they are, neat and tidy on the inside
Ever get the feeling Justin shouldn’t play the napoleonic era. Yikes two broken weapons in the first turn
I’m hoping to make this my introduction to Napolianics! Love the mix of historical and horror.
Brilliant, no Alpha Strike in this game Justin ?
Nice play through guys… some great mechanics
Starting with the solo play was a surprise but it was something I was most interested in seeing how it works.
Ahhh the look of glee on Gerry’s face @18.00 min mark after Justin fails with another shot destroying his weapon . i bet Justin didn’t bother to bring a single ounce of silver either . Sorry Justin no alpha strike here need skill .
Lol great demo.
