Black Library Preview New Warhammer Novels Coming Soon
December 13, 2021 by brennon
This weekend saw the big preview from Games Workshop for Black Library and what’s coming up during 2022. There were some fun reveals for both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age Of Sigmar as well as The Horus Heresy.

The first reveal we’re looking at was for The Horus Heresy with Saturnine becoming available in paperback. This focuses in on terrible fighting around the perimeter of the Emperor’s Palace.
As well as that, you can also pick up a nice looking artefact. You can pick up a map showing The Defence Of The Lion’s Gate. This means you can keep an eye on where all the action is taking place.
The Defence Of Lion's Gate Map // Black Library
I like this but I can’t begin to imagine what it is going to cost. In-world artefacts are fun and possibly good presents for fans of The Horus Heresy who have everything.
Warhammer 40,000 Novels
A long time after the clashes of The Horus Heresy we also have a bunch of new (and returning) releases for the grimdark of Warhammer 40,000. For example, Eisenhorn returns with Xenos and an illustrated AND annotated edition.
Eisenhorn: Xenos Illustrated Edition // Black Library
Delve back into this impressive series (that is SO getting turned into a TV series at some point, right?) and experience it with stunning artwork and more to sink your teeth into.
Keeping with the theme of inquisitors, we also have the next instalment in the Ravenor Rogue series.
Ravenor: Rogue // Black Library
You’ll be following Ravenor as he looks to hunt down Zygmunt Molotch. This spin-off series that expands the Eisenhorn storyline will be landing as a special signed edition complete with maps and more. Another present for the grimdark fan who has everything?
Next up, we have some Space Marine novels! There is the new anthology, The Successors as well as a book following the mighty Sigismund.
The Successors Anthology // Black Library
Sigismund: The Eternal Crusader // Black Library
Some great options for those wanting to delve into the history of one of the greatest characters in the Imperium and look at some of those Chapters that might not get a look in very often.
Capping off things for the Imperium, we also have The Triumph Of Saint Catherine which follows a Battle Sister as she learns more about this ancient relic…
The Triumph Of Saint Catherine // Black Library
…and another that I think is awesome. Assassinorum Kingmaker seems like a fascinating book full of political intrigue as two assassins try to change the fate of a planet.
Asassinorum: Kingmaker // Black Library
For fans of Chaos, you’ve also got a book themed around Huron Blackheart as he deals with foes within his own ranks…
Huron Blackheart // Black Library
…and Ahriman Eternal where the sorcerer is seeking to undo the terrible curse he laid on his Legion.
Ahriman Eternal // Black Library
This book comes with all sorts of gubbins for you to play around with. Some of them are elements that directly link into the story as you solve riddles and uncover secrets just like Ahriman.
Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Novels
Heading to the Mortal Realms, Gotrek leads the way with a new entry in the series called Soulslayer.
Soulslayer // Black Library
Soulslayer follows Gotrek and Maleneth as he strives to follow through on his newfound sense of purpose. The Idoneth Deepkin, fans of stealing souls, have noticed just how bright Gotrek’s burns so are looking to claim it for themselves. I sense a classic clash between Aelves and Duardin.
We also have a book focused on Kragnos himself. Learn all about his mighty schemes and how much he wants to break stuff!
Kragnos: Avatar Of Destruction // Black Library
There is also a fun one for fans of witch-hunting and monster slaying.
Hallowed Ground // Black Library
Hallowed Ground follows the Ven Denst family as they look to stop a terrible threat that is looming in the shadows after the siege of Excelsis.
New Miniatures
A couple of miniatures are also on the way for fans of The Horus Heresy. Making a name for themselves during The Siege Of Terra, this pair of imperial heroes are going to be popping up in plastic (yes, plastic!)
Fafnir Rann of the Imperial Fists and Dominion Zephon of the Blood Angels Legion are going to be popping up as part of the Black Library celebration in February next year.
Fafnir Rann // Warhammer 40,000
Fafnir Rann is a scion of strength and endurance and formed part of the defence of the Lion’s Gate Spaceport.
Dominion Zephon found himself broken before the Siege Of Terra but was brought back to fighting strength by the one and only Arkhan Land.
Dominion Zephon // Black Library
He battled alongside the Adeptus Custodes, joined Malcador The Sigillite in his clashes and inspired the soldiers of the Imperium to greater feats of heroics on the battlefield.
So, quite a lot of books for you to snap up next year if you were so inclined!

HH minis in plastic. Blimey.
Was the blood angel guy the one from the webway war book? I bet a few world eater players are eyeing up the imperial fisty guy.
Ooh lots of booky books an a gold space wolf? With Vlad the Marine.
Funny thing about that new Dominion Zephon miniature that GW forgot what they own character is supposed to look like as he is supposed to have clawed right foot, blond hair and heresy era style helmet with Blood Angels insignia.
WHY is there now an Imperial Fists miniature that looks like me?!
Big GW is watching you ?
I like Fafnir Rann a lot ! Cool model and kinda grimdark vibey.
The main 40k line by GW can be so toyish and nothing about the new Primaris speaks grimdark to me. I hope the new Heresy starter
will feature larger Marine models, the old squatted design doesnt cut it anymore. But it will be weird with all the legion specific Units staying in the old design and thus being smaller than regular Marines.
