Hobgoblins
A trio of hobgoblins, one obvious leader accompanied by a pair of lackeys.
These are actually Formorians by Alternative Armies, coming from their Erin Celtic Myth range. I thought the models were very characterful, and could also be used as fairly generic monsters for lots of miniature agnostic games.
This is were I am having problems. The ECM figures are some of my favourite and I have a lot of them from 25 years ago (they really stood the test of time and look good today). The problem is that most goblins and hobgoblins have that ‘fantasy world’ look and it is very hard to find something that fits into the world of ‘myth’. With the goblins I’m finding it quite hopeless, but with the hobgoblins I went with the Corelocks from Lucid Eye. You pretty much nailed down my thoughts as well. I went for these as my hobgoblins as they have a little bit of a celtic myth theme, and I figured they could be something that has long been at rest, but disturbed and now awake.
I’m also looking forward to seeing what the Northstar goblins look like, so I’m holding off filling that part of my bestiary at the moment.
