Borderlands Hits Kickstarter With Mister Torgue’s Arena Of Badassery!
December 3, 2021 by fcostin
The chaotic video game franchise Borderlands has made its way over to Kickstarter today! As 2K have teamed up with Gearbox and Monster Fight Club for the upcoming cooperative title, Borderlands: Mister Torgue's Arena of Badassery.
Borderlands®: Mister Torgue's Arena of Badassery™ // Monster Fight Club
Alike the video game, the board game will rely on cooperation between players, as they will step into the role of Vault Hunters who have wandered aimlessly into Torgue’s psychotic gladiator pit.
As you can imagine, the fight is on in Torgue’s explosive arena, as players will take the role of iconic Borderlands characters in either a cooperative or solo experience through the unyielding arena. Taking the role of some fan favourite playable characters and loveable NPCs.
But, as it is Torgue do not expect the arena to be filled with puppies and rainbows. Waiting in the pit for our zany heroes are many beasts and natives looking to pick a fight!

But, if you did want to upgrade your character, weapons and armour to come across some more burly enemies that Torgue has up his sleeve - you can do so via the handy dandy vending machine.
The game can be played out as individual scenarios if you do want to jump in and out of the game for some quick carnage, however, these scenarios can be played as part of an overarching campaign to traverse deeper into the Borderlands universe gradually and as part of a story.
There are a ton of miniatures and resources available on the Kickstarter too! Along with all of the heroes and enemies you will meet, there are a plethora of 45 miniatures, over 400 cards, 80 double-side hex tiles and so much more depending on pledge level and stretch goals!
Although the game is fresh on Kickstarter, the title has already been funded and surpassed its goal already with 20 days still on the clock. It is really nice to see a board game extension from the video game, as opposed to a reskin campaign.

First 48 hours gets a free expansion!
About 24 hours left.
IT is indeed cool to see them extend one of the mini-multiplayer games from the Borderlands series.
IIRC the Arena was a sort of Horde survival mode of a team of heroes vs monsters.
Definitely the thing to pick if you want to turn Borderlands into a (replayable) boardgame.
I’m loving the figures for this game.
Finally we can have miniatures for playing a real-life game of Bunkers and Badasses!
And all the claptraps!
