Bow Before Quetzalcoatl From Warlord’s Mythic Americas
November 24, 2021 by brennon
Warlord Games recently added a big new monster into the mix for their 28mm Fantasy wargame, Mythic Americas. The mighty Quetzalcoatl is a new beast coming to support the Aztec in this 28mm game based on Warlords Of Erehwon.
Quetzalcoatl // Warlord Games
This impressive resin miniature was deified by the Aztecs as the god of the wind. Unlike other monsters, Quetzalcoatl is a powerful spellcaster and comes with special rules allowing him to fly around the board. He can bring blessings and magic spells into play easily and gets an added boost due to multiple melee attacks, high statistics and a Venomous ability.

This is a super good looking miniature that is packed with detail from the top of its head down to the tail curled around that scenic base. I think this would take beautifully to wet blending across every aspect of the miniatures.

Snap this miniature up and get stuck into using it as part of your Aztec force. Interestingly, if the Fantasy elements of Mythic Americas don't work for you, you can actually play the game with just the Historical forces available as part of the range.
Who would want to pass up a chance to pick this up though?

That looks really good.
It’s really nice to see something different, yet rooted in traditional myth – as opposed to different and newly invented (which is not bad in any shape or form).
This is a breath of fresh air from an old part of town – so to speak.
Snake tail on rock again ?
Ooh yeah a fab colourful figure.
Wow, $144.00?? Really? No thank you.
What a waste of time and energy making a model like that. No wonder Warlords of Erehwon isn’t going anywhere. Warlord is really all over the place right now. They need to knuckle down a bit and stop wasting there time.
Picked up one of these at the Warlord Games Open Day a few months ago, love it – I’m a crap painter but it looks fantastic in my cabinet and as a centrepiece for my old Lizardmen army. From what I can gather it’s Warlord making inroads into Forge World sort of big items. Now that G-dubs have got rid of a lot of their casters, Warlord have got the pick of the crop when it comes to poaching talent that otherwise would have been locked behind closed doors. Even if it’s just for the novelty, really hope they continue… Read more »
Hefty price for a hefty miniature! Very nice sculpt!
That is a truly amazing model and as other people have echoed here, it’s really nice to see the ancient Americas being used as the inspiration for a fantasy game. They’re every bit as fascinating as ancient Europe and of course to a European such as myself they also have a lot of exoticism about them too
It’s expensive but looking at the video it’s also quite big too
