This topic contains 9 replies, has 5 voices, and was last updated by zorg 3 years, 1 month ago.
I want to do a blood drop effect on a weapon and it’s not going to be human blood so pre-made blood effects won’t work.
My initial thought is to form the blood drop out of green stuff and then paint it the appropriate colors.
Any suggestions?
You could try clear glue. I see people use that to make really good saliva and spittle effects. Some colours over the top
I usually use a drop of heavy gel medium. Put a drop on a plastic film and let it dry. Peel it of, cut and shape if necessary and glue it to place. Then continue to mold the shape or pattern by adding more gel on the glued piece to get a rounder shape. You can paint it up afterward, but I’d mix the paint into the gel. A few experiments with paint to gel ratio should help you decide the opacity.
try 3 colours up they have many videos for blood a gore @blipvertus
Preview of what I’m putting the “blood” effects on.
Same mini but further along. Trying to decide a good color for the blood.
what are you thinking? With it being a mech I’d be tempted with a rich black like oil but that may be too stark
@avernos possibly a blue. Maybe a green. Something that’ll say, not blood but Mech innards.
hydraulic fluid is usually a yellowish colour and many engine coolants have a green look to them. If that’s any help @blipvertus
