Light Up Your Life, Or At Least Your Miniatures

I always am attracted to new tech and gadgets, anything that makes my miniatures and table stand out. This time around there is this small Kickstarter campaign going on right now for a company called PoweredPlay Gaming. They have created a small self contained kit with LED lighting that you can place in a 40mm or larger base of a miniature and add some light effects to whatever you desire. This company has been around for awhile and offering light kits for models and such, but now they have come up with all in the base concept.
Does this improve your game play, probably not. However, it sure can make for an awesome looking army to storm the battlefield and if you subscribe to Warren's philosophy of charged dice, it might be applicable to "charged minis". Anyhow, it looks like a fun little project for anyone to add a little something extra, so why not head over to Kickstarter and check it out.
Will you be lighting up your game?
These would be great to put inside some of the translucent plastic figures that have come out recently. The Reaper Bones fire elemental comes to mind. Oh, no. I have one on my shelf! Time to add another project too the queue.
If the price is right I can see this taking off. But there are just too many companies that make LED’s, along with smart LED’s. They’re easy to set up yourself, but like I said if the price is right, convenience is king.
