Forge World’s Vorax Battle Automata Stalk Into Battle
November 4, 2014 by brennon
Forge World have a rather insect-like addition to their line-up this month in the form of the Vorax Battle-Automata. Will you be sending these hunting after your enemies on the battlefield?
The idea of these creations is to hunt down rogue machines and mutants and the design has taken that into account. They have really cool looking bug-like eyes that remind me a praying mantis and yet the clawed feet of a bird! It's a very strange and interesting design choice apparently from the Dark Age of Technology in the Warhammer universe.
Quite the interesting miniatures and they don't actually look overly Warhammer save for the insignia on the top. I reckon you could even re-purpose these into other games. Maybe in a post-apocalyptic wasteland a scientist or engineer has come up with a way to defend his small outpost against the beasts of the wasteland. Rust them up and they'd fit right in!
What do you think?

Looks sort of buggy…
It’s a redux of one of the old citadel imperial robots. Nice.

They do look much better that the originals but.
I like these a lot.
Already got mine at warhammerfest, right fiddly little buggers.
Thought thy looked familiar. Can’t wait to try my hand at the concept… but too much on the go right now.
Those are some nicely weird looking and rather sinister Admech robots, but as the OP points out could also relatvely easily be re-purposed to other games systems.
here’s a link to the ad for the original robot in a White Dwarf from ’88: http://www.solegends.com/citrt/rt108robots.htm (if that’s allowed).
I seem to remember interesting programming-style rules printed for them in the mag which were really convoluted but interesting.
Ah, someone already posted link ^
My bad for skimming.
