Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is getting itself a new Starter Set plus Games Workshop also showcased what's next for their Sci-Fi skirmish game. We kick things off with the new Kill Team Starter Set which gives you a cutdown selection of options from the launch box.

The new Starter Set comes with a double-sided game board, a cut-down selection of terrain and a full team of miniatures for both the Death Korps Of Krieg and Ork Kommandos. It has been designed for new players (of course) and comes with a Recruit Handbook complete with tutorial missions plus a full-but-compact rulebook.

This seems like a much more forgiving (on the wallet) entry-level product for those that want to give Kill Team a shot. The teams are the same and the terrain seems much more manageable to get painted up. As is the case with every Starter Set from Games Workshop, this does give you a saving over buying components separately.

In addition to the new Starter Set, you will also be able to pick up the new Kill Team squads separately allowing you to customise an existing force even more or drop them into your games of Warhammer 40,000.

Death Korps Of Krieg - Warhammer 40000 SEPT

Death Korps Of Krieg // Warhammer 40,000

So, this gives you the options for making a team of Veteran Guardsmen or Ork Kommandos with a few more sprues. A good option for those Astra Militarum players who want to make an entire army based around the Death Korps Of Krieg.

Ork Kommandos - Warhammer 40000 SEPT

These sets aren't going to be out for a couple of weeks yet but it is good that they have already planned out their roadmap for more Kill Team content. It also means that those who just couldn't afford the launch box have a window into the game too.

Kill Team: Chalnath Coming Soon

Whilst the Death Korps Of Krieg are battling against the Orks on some ravaged planet, the Adepta Sororitas are taking the fight to the T'au Empire in Kill Team: Chalnath.

Kill Team: Chalnath // Warhammer 40,000

A band of Novitiates from the Adepta Sororitas have found themselves distracted from their War Of Faith and instead have to root out a Xenos plot on a nearby planet. With high-power weapons and all manner of tricks up their sleeves, the T'au Pathfinders are not to be messed with!

Adepta Sororitas Vs T'au Empire // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

This new boxed set comes with a range of brand new miniatures for both the Adepta Sororitas and the T'au Pathfinders. They look pretty awesome I must admit. I am particularly sold on the T'au who look like they mean business.

In addition to the new miniatures, you've also got a set of Imperial Ruins and full rules for playing out battles within this particular environment.

If you want another option for diving into Kill Team then this is waiting in the wings. I like that these pieces of terrain are very much like the Gothic Ruins of old. It's nice that they have already managed to avoid dropping Space Marines into the mix in these two sets. I'm sure they will be coming but it is very refreshing as a starting point for a game.

Kill Team Road Map // Warhammer 40,000

As I say, it's good to see that the plan for Kill Team has already been laid out. Have you dived into the new edition of Kill Team? How are you finding it so far?

Let me know in the comments!
