Victrix Preview New Romano-British For Dark Age Wargamers
August 19, 2021 by brennon
Victrix are going to be expanding on their Dark Age collection with a set of plastic miniatures in 28mm to represent the Romano-British. This first preview offers up a peek at some of the options you'll get in the set for Late Romans and Romano-British soldiers.
Romano-British Champion Preview // Victrix
The set has been designed to follow the designs, weaponry and armour of the Late Romans but with a little dash of the Briton for good measure. You'll notice the longer hair on these warriors which gives them that Romano-British feel.
Romano-British Warrior Preview // Victrix
As with all of the kits from Victrix, this plastic set is going to offer you a selection of interchangeable parts which can be used to make very unique looking warriors. I have often thought that building a proper Romano-British army would be pretty awesome, especially if you tied it into the Historical take on King Arthur.
Romano-British warriors fighting against the invading Early Saxons would be a pretty fascinating sight on the tabletop.
Are you liking the look of these previews so far?

Very nice looking game figures.
These look like great fun. I already have a Romano-British force for Dux Britanniarum, but with their wilder look these might do nicely for a North British force in the Raiders expansion. It’ll be interested to see if Victrix do a complementary cavalry set as that is an important component of a North British retinue.
Cool! Wonder if they would do for Massalian Greeks? Marseille was originally a Greek colony (heavily influenced by it’s Celtic neighbours) until it was swallowed up by Rome
Mind you, terrific way to get into real late Roman history as well as the Arthurian legend.
Very nice figures and great to see this period being supported with plastics. Bit surprised they have gone with the cuirasses and pteruges. Thought this Barker-ism had been sunk many moons ago? Wasn’t it mail if any armour at all? ?
Amazing topic and lovely production. Could serve in Middle-Earth too 🙂
