Save The Mystic Vale In Edge Of Darkness Expansion
August 18, 2021 by fcostin
AEG are incredibly well known for their vast range of board games. Whether be the cheese wearing Lederhosen in Cubitos, or sewing a cosy-cat quilt in Calico, there really is a wide range of board and card games to pick and choose from.
However, when two worlds collide - there is a chance for these titles to become something bigger. Edge of Darkness Expansion Emissaries of the Vale is currently on Kickstarter and although this game may belong within the Edge of Darkness universe, the expansion ties to another glorious and fantastical title from AEG, Mystic Vale.

Designed by John D Clair, the established name behind both Mystic Vale and Edge of Darkness, the expansion takes players into the realms of the Mystic Vale, establishing a connection with the lost civilisation of Druids. However, it is not all beautiful toadstools, pixie dust and unicorns in this realm. The Vale has been twisted by darkness, as pure evil is set out to remove the deep magic entwined into the lands, jarring the Druid magic and corrupting its people, and it is down to the player to stop the evil from spreading further.

The expansion takes on all aspects of the base game, Edge of Darkness. Utilising aspects of card-crafting and worker placement mechanics.
For new players looking to get into the game, are you in luck. If this fantasy universe is one that is piquing your interest, as part of the All-In pledge, where for an extremely good deal, players can get hold of the base game, expansions new and old, and stretch goals. If that did not seem tempting enough, all of the expansions previously made for the game were on Kickstarter too, and AEG is providing all previous stretch goals as part of the previous campaigns as part of the pledge.
