An unboxing ?
of a preorder from GW ?
Did someone invent time travel ? 😉
The next expansion book is written in binary.
01100 101101 00 1100 011000 1010100 110001
Some of that terrain looks like it was in the Speed Freaks box set.
Yeah, it looks like about half of it is new, and half (or so) was used in Speed Freaks as well. Which is interesting as Speed Freaks was quite a few years ago now!
Can John get the rest of the week off. I feel from the video the mental scars he had from the building process of the models he needs time to recover from. I also worry the level of detail and the look of disappoint becaue the gas masks look a bit different makes me slightly worry for the poor chap. Frankly I could not see much difference between those plastic ones and the Forge world one but I will take Johns very detailed view as correct on the matter.
looks a good start box to game with.
Why oh why can’t GW rules authors just use “2 Inches” (of 4″ or even 6″) in the text of the rules instead of using those stupid symbols (does it mean they can copyright units of measurements now?). And using “Turning Points” instead of “turn” or “Phase” (again is it so that they can copyright the whole concept of the end of a turn?). It seems overly complicated, having to use a strangely marked hieroglyphics on a normal measuring tool (all the others just use you know…NUMBERS). Always said GW couldn’t write a clear set of rules to save their… Read more »
Must be the same school of rules writing as Star Wars: Legion.
Someone on the YouTube was saying that instead of circle, square, hex, the at the playtesters called them white, black, and red… so they color coorinated the icons and ignored the shapes…
Really should have been consistent… 2″ being white should be a 2 sided object.. 3″ being black should be a triangle… 6″ being red (or 5″ or whatever it is) should be a hexagon or pentagon (if 6″ or 5″)…
Ok, but instead of using either a symbol or a colour (and then converting it into inches), why not just quote INCHES instead? It would make things clearer and you would need a “custom” measuring device (or maybe that’s the point).
Hah
Now you feel my pain when I read a rulebook that says move 10″ …
As such to me this is no different.
5″ or 5 circles ?
Same distance and same sillyness.
The only difference is that one can be trademarked and the other is used by people who didn’t learn that metric was the default for the entire world.
£120? Are they actually serious? Sorry, of course they are…
I’m sorry, but I have not been to GW’s website for an awful long time, but the temptation of plastic Krieg figures was just too much.
Years ago I heard the term ‘plastic crack’, and surely this must qualify?
I think you have to pay another £50 if you want more army lists
31 Euro for the compendium (or 42 if you buy from GW direct).
It is supposed to have all the lists so … unless the compendium exists in the same space as the Indexes for 40k 8th edition did.
I had a similar temptation when they announced new Gaunt’s Ghost Figures, having loved the books I thought I’d check them out, limited run, pre-order thing, queueing on the website and they wanted £42 for 6 of them! Needless to say, the temptation quickly disappeared.
Just as a silly, quick follow up… why are Gaunt’s Ghosts NOT an option for Kill Team? Lol.. like come on.. GW puts out a somewhat limited edition boxed set of 6 unique models… the quinessential KILL TEAM… and they don’t include rules for those 6 models as their own unique Kill Team right off the bat? missed chance their GW.. missed chance. Just like Bragg.
they may still be in the compendium … GW hasn’t said what is in it, but info so far indicates 170 operatives across 19 factions :
Space Marines
Grey Knights
Imperial Guard
Forge World
Ecclesiarchy
Talons of the Emperor
Traitor Space Marines
Death Guard
Thousand Sons
Chaos Daemons
Craftworld
Commorite
Troupe
Greenskins
Tomb Worlds
Hunter Cadre
Cadre Mercenaries
Hive Fleet
Brood Coven
Yes … GW is using the word ‘Imperial Guard’ again.
None of that silly marketing nonsense.
Warren’s next code busters is square + triangle – circle = ruined kill team.
This was a great unboxing. Very clear on what you get and the positives and negatives of the whole experience. Thanks chaps.
A fantastic unboxing+, while its nice to see the contents, the assembly, run through of completed miniatures and thoughts on them, and initial impressions of the rules changes really set this apart from the wave of generic taking things out of a box reviews.
Great to see John Back on the videos too!
So one thing I haven’t seen or heard much yet… you all mention the dual-build options… does that mean really people are going to eventually want 2 boxes of Death Korp and 2 boxes of Kommandos to have all their options? Or is it a lot of just thematic and visual variations (like different heads or different shaped guns)? It was mentioned to read the Octarius book first to know what to build.. so how far ‘wrong’ can you go with load outs? Can you accidentally make an unplayable (proper) Kill Team with Kreig and with Orks? Or is there… Read more »
