Animal Adventures: The Faraway Sea Kickstarter Now Live

I sat there, awaiting 6pm to hurry on, on Tuesday 20th July. In fierce anticipation. Why might you ask? Animal Adventures: The Faraway Sea Kickstarter is now live, and I was one of the first in the queue to peer at all of the amazingly cute and adorable goodies included in the campaign from Painting Polygons and Steamforged Games.

With some Kickstarter Exclusive adventures, new adorable characters, a new class and some incredible accessories - the short Kickstarter campaign only has 7 days to go, so if you need a knife-wielding baby Kraken miniature in your life, and want to explore your way across island after island, meeting some wonderful characters along the way: you might want to give this campaign a look!

With a short campaign, there is so much to offer within the short space of time! And where else better to start than the adventure itself? Players embark on their newest adventure, jumping off of the lands of Gullet Cove, and into the mysterious Faraway Sea amongst the wind in your hair (or fur!), riding the rough waves of the sea. Visiting a chain of islands with the chance to meet a wealth of animal characters, players will explore, and hunt for booty across the new world of opportunity.

These new characters, Free? What incredibly cute and adorable characters might I be playing and meeting on the Faraway Sea? There are ten new species in the newest adventure, including an albatross, an alpaca, a fox, a goat, a koala, an orangutan, an otter, a pig, a rabbit and a red panda. All with individually incredible unique abilities to diversify your adventure.

There are also two brand new classes if you would like to expand on your current created character which you may have used in Animal Adventures or Dungeons & Doggies. The Watcher Class and the Tinkermage Class adds two very different playstyles to the mix. You can now toss a bone to your Watcher, as these fearsome hunters are a force to not be reckoned with. And combine magic and intelligence with the Tinkermage to create some incredible inventions to help you push further on your journeys.

There are a few different pledge levels, including your chance to get hold of the sourcebook via PDF or hardcopy, a chance to get all of the miniatures, and even a chance to get your hands on two Kickstarter exclusive adventures, with a pirate bear and two twin walrus' for some added muscle. So if you did want to get hold of some extra special missions, but did not want to tap into the highest pledge, these are available as add-ons along with an awesome GM Screen and some gorgeous dice.

There are no stretch goals as part of the campaign, given the duration and the pledge levels, however, I do love the idea of building your perfect package with add-ons to customise exactly what you want as a player and a customer.

I now must contain my excitement now that I have backed, and wait patiently for the magical day where these miniatures go on their next adventure... through my letterbox and into the tiny hands of my niece anticipating already that she wants to paint the pig!
