Four New Awesome Characters Head To Unmatched For Vol. 2
July 19, 2021 by fcostin
Your favourite game of mish-mashed heroes battling head-t0-head has some new characters joining the fray. Achilles, Yennega, Sun Wukong and Bloody Mary are making their way into Unmatched from Restoration Games, with characters that diversify the game pool further.
Unmatched Vol. 2 // Restoration Games
I was incredibly excited to see this release. Why? Because anything with not just Achilles on, but Patroclus has my seal of approval. I am not so clued up with history alike Gerry and Ben. But when it comes to books, I buried my head in both The Illiad and The Odyssey and there was never going back. Let alone taking them both onto the tabletop and pitting them against the likes of Alice and Jekyll and Hyde.

Yennenga // Unmatched Heroes Vol. 2
The game is confirmed to not just have new characters to pit into a slurry of war. But a new battlefield and a new mechanism in tow too. Of course, with the new characters along comes a beautiful miniature, trackers and themed artwork.
With three warriors and one horror legend, it is anybody's guess as to who will come out triumphant. Will it be the Warrior Princess, Yennenga? The Greek Legend, Achilles? The Monkey King, Sun Wukong? Or the Murderous Maiden Bloody Mary?
Sadly there is no release date just yet, and fans (me being one of them), have been waiting oh so patiently for some promised Marvel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters to join in on the hussle. Just hope I do not have to wait for too long to get Achilles on my side!
What do you think of these new characters? Is there anybody else you would like to see join Unmatched?

ive not seen this game played.
Ton of actual plays on YouTube I just found, but here’s a rather quick one of Sinbad vs Alice: https://youtu.be/rDZVypvqm8w
Thanks I’ll have a look when I get a chance.
The game looks great like a fantasy deathmatch type of thing to it.
I heard that it takes its mechanics (or some of them) from an old Star Wars Prequels dual game. I don’t have anything to back that up, but I remember reading it somewhere. Could also be dead wrong. =)
Either way, I may have to get into this game if I can find enough of it. Might need to see if my FLGS can get their hands on it.
One good point it’s a low figures count so quick to paint?
I still wouldn’t paint them…just hate, HATE painting, though I wanted to like it so much. But for that game, I won’t feel bad having non-painted minis. It’s more of a board game to me. 🙂
Lol.
I’ve looked at this game a few times, but just never grabbed it for some reason yet. But I’ve always loved the idea of mash-ups. Bruce Lee vs. Robin Hood? Why the hell not!?! Some interesting characters being added to the game. Not sure who Yennenga is, but now I sure as heck want to find out! Who might I like to see? How about Samson, King Arthur/Lancelot/Merlin, Tarzan/John Carter, John Wayne/The Duke, and how about a certain killer bunny with big fangs. I’m sure I could do this all day…ooh the Terminator, Predator, Alien, Robocop…Buck Rogers, Flash Gordon, The… Read more »
Looks like King Arthur is already in the game. Cool.
