Castellan Crowe Returns With New Warhammer 40K Miniature
July 13, 2021 by brennon
The Grey Knights are (at some point) going to be getting their new Codex for Warhammer 40,000 from Games Workshop. With the release of a new Codex, we're also going to be seeing a few updated miniatures. One of those is for the mighty Castellan Crowe.

The new miniature is a pretty big upgrade over the previous iteration (as you'll see below). Crowe still carries the dangerous and cursed Black Blade Of Antwyr which whispers dark secrets. Is he as immune to the charms as Chaos as the Imperium thinks?
The new miniature has a lot more dynamism to it. I do quite like the old one but this new version turns the dial up to eleven and seems to fit more with the updated aesthetic of Warhammer 40,000.

There will no doubt be a few more surprises in the weeks to come. It has been a while since I've looked through the vast majority of the Grey Knights range but I get a sense that some of it could probably do with the same kind of update.
Are you a bit of a Grey Knights fan?

He has got a look on his face as if his day is getting worse and worse…. poor chap.. anybody got a snickers for him?
I think for the Grey Knights things are eternally getting worse and worse haha
Is there ever a day when things go WELL for the Grey Knights?
That’s the vegetarian diet they have now.
That could be the problem..
Turn the dial up to 11 is an odd phrase. Normally if you turn a dial beyond the maximum you hear a snapping noise and you end up with a broken knob that doesn’t work… and no one wants a broken knob…
especially if you are an Ork
Am I now part of the older generation, when I understand the reference?
He needs to watch that flaming sword around that cloak. If he’s not careful it’ll go up like Cadia.
Too soon?
Never.
He looks fabulous I think his helmet should be a bright colour like green or orange?
My biggest problem with the old Crowe (besides painting the white of the shoulder pads and helmet) was, being resin, was that the blade never seemed straight enough. Now, after getting the new version, I can replace the blade with one of the multitude of plastic spares from the many boxes and make him a champion or justicar. And I see that one less shoulder pad is white now and maybe the helmet if I go for the naked head, although that leaves a face to deal with. Now a few new units would be wonderful. Woe is my lot… Read more »
That’s not bad sculpt. Not at all. It’s nice update.
Do we think the grey Knights will be primaris in height??
Maybe they turn GK into Primaris GK.
I have been making my 1st born scouts and tactical marines taller to make them look better against my primaris. Hopefully they give the GK a little lift.
