About the Project
I painted up some of the Primaris troop options, and I've been playing games with them with my Ravenwing, and Deathwing, but I'm interested in trying without the cool unique Dark Angel units. So I'm adding some of the cool Space Marine things.

I hate those silly flying stands.
So, placing the models on their bases, and then adding cork so they didn’t look completely silly.
CorkedBatch priming.
As they’re mostly plastic models I don’t need to prime, except of course the Finecast Asmodai, but I like to start from black anyway. I will not batch paint them, this was just the ‘Blackening’, maybe the grey layer too. I really need to clean out the airbrush.
Stuck down ready.
Spray primed.
Finished off with the airbrush.Plasma Inceptors.
I’m starting off with the unit that will replace my old plasma devatators.
I start by doing grey, so the contrast paint works.
Then I use the Dark Angel green contrast.
Some dry-brushing.
Next up Warp Lightning.
More dry-brushing.
The final Green is the Mortarion Green Clear.
So with the Green done, it’s time to start the other colours.
First up is Red.
The Imperialis symbol in an Off White.
Base colour for the metallic parts in Gloss Black.
Blue stuff, and started the metallics.
With base colours down, I used some washes, some edge highlighting, some contrast on the guns, and then I set the airbrush back up to do the plasma glow. Then I re-did the rocks on the bases, varnished, added decals to them, then matte varnished them.
Annoyingly I don’t have any of the company badges for the knees, which I guess explains why none of the new troops have them.
I finished them.
DoneEveryone Else, except characters.
After I finished the Inceptors, I figured it was too slow, and hey, why not batch paint the other units. So Grey over the black, then white just so the contrast works. Exactly the same as the Inceptors.
