June 22, 1941: 80th Anniversary of Operation Barbarossa
Good afternoon, everyone:
Today marks the 80th Anniversary of what is still considered my many to be the largest single offensive ever launched in the history of warfare. “Operation Barbarossa” was the initial Axis invasion of the Soviet Union, launched in the early morning hours of June 22, 1941. This would start the most brutal campaign in the history of warfare, change the face of the world forever, and set the Third Reich on its path toward eventual and final defeat.

Can’t believe that this was 5 years ago, I really enjoyed this series of articles. Looks like i shall have to find time in my diary to grab a coffee and have another read through.
