10 Page Preview of 1650: A Capa & Espada

Tercio Creativo have announced that their new game 1650: A Capa & Espada, will be translated into English... and just to prove it, they've released a 10 page preview that you can download.

The spending of Maravedies looks like a simple, interesting resource management mechanic. To those who know the term “Euro boardgames”; from what I’ve seen this could well be a “Euro miniatures game” – very ellegant, but not simplistic.
Would like to read the rest of the rules.
It would be nice if they didn’t go through MegaUpload. Too much goofing around and waiting for such a small file. The downside of using Blogspot rather than paying for hosting, I guess. The Maravedies mechanic looks like the soulstones of Malifaux. Just another name for points. Meh. Whatever. The whole “nighttime commission”/lamp thing seems off. There’s no penalty for being under a lamp, when in reality (which seems the game’s basis) being under a lamp would kill your vision beyond it’s light and make you a target. “The Maravedies mechanic looks like the soulstones of Malifaux.” yeah and the shards (or what were they) in Alkemy before that. But it’s not exactely like that, since the same value is also used in warband composition as a direct limiting factor. This will either provide very good ballance or get utterly broken at some point. But there is penalty for standing under a lamp; everyone can shoot you with their full (unmodified) ranges even though it’s night, while you still have your range halved shooting anything in the dark.
