North Star Take Pre-Orders For Oathmark Revenant Infantry

North Star Military Figures are now taking pre-orders for the new 28mm Oathmark Revenant Infantry for use in Osprey Games' mass battle Fantasy wargame.
Painted Revenants // Oathmark
This new set of plastic miniatures allows you to build thirty infantry for your Oathmark armies. Your undead warriors, summoned to war by kings and heroes, can be armed with hand weapons and shields or two-handed weapons. You've also got the options to make officers and banner bearers for your units.
Think of these warriors as entombed warriors called to fight by the likes of Aragorn rather than shambling constructs animated by a necromancer's magic. I like the look which is once again very Tolkienesque. Quite fitting considering the theme behind them.

As well as the plastic kit, you'll also be able to pick up some metal figures too. There are at least three new metal characters on the way.

Once again, loving the look and these would make excellent leaders and champions for your armies. It would be great to see how people attempt painting these miniatures. You could go for the scheme above but I reckon they would look even better with plenty of dirt, grime and rusted armour.

The paintjob in the photo makes them look like Planet Of The Apes, but they are actually skellies.

Which is good, since Oathmark & Wargames Atlantic already have a plastic skelly box.
True, but both of them are fairly armor free skeletons while these are quite well armored. Some games, like Kings of War, use both bare bones skeletons AND tougher armored ones for different troop choices.
Now, if either of those companies could make some plastic infantry and cavalry vampire knights then maybe I could afford to field some.

Those look really good.
Really liking the ancient Celtic look of the armour, without batwings or skulls. Probably going to pick these up at the FLGS.
Very nice minatures, giving me that classic fantasy vibe but with nice modern sculpts. Good to see something other than skeletons too!
I have ordered a set to flesh out my newly completed oathmark army of the Dead. I intend to go much paler with the skin tone, I agree that the darker skin tone is leading the eye to read them as simian rather than undead. The uniform and metal work are also rather pristine in the photos again leading to a read that they are not undead. The consistency in body armour in the sculpt means I need to distinguish the figures in paint finishes. So for me paler skin and grunged up gear and let’s see, experiments lie ahead… Read more »
