Redgrass Games’ Swanky Wet Palette Returns To Kickstarter!
May 21, 2021 by fcostin
The Wet Palette from Redgrass Games tends to be a staple accessory in a lot of miniatures painters' toolkits. As somebody who predominately uses watercolours, and has transitioned over to acrylics since painting miniatures: the Wet Palette was my saviour, the ability to start and stop without worry that my paint is going to dry was a game-changer.

Now Redgrass Games is now back on Kickstarter with several updated and upgraded versions of the Wet Palette, with the Wet Palette 2 and XL - funded within the first 24 hours.
The original Wet Palette may have been an outstanding tool in your armoury, but the Wet Palette 2 offers new features to keep your paintwork professional, organised and efficient. With a new watertight case, a wider design and an outstanding reusable membrane, this is sure to tickle the fancy of any miniature gamer looking to streamline their painting process.

The Wet Palette 2 helps your paints go further and last longer, with a tighter seal in place to stop any air from getting in and drying out your good paint! Keeping your paint on pause from the second you shut the lid, to the moment you reopen it. Lasting up to several days, you can restart exactly where you left off with no bother.

The new hydration membrane which is embedded into the palette promises to keep your paints fresh for longer, keeping them in place without the paint running or breaking. This is perfect for me, I am constantly mixing paints and always find that I rarely can get the same colour once I run out, as I am having to dilute constantly. However, the Wet Palette 2 will be sure to keep my colours unmixed and ready for a consistent blending.

This membrane will have to be changed over after using several times, however it is easy enough to change over and the Kickstarter Campiagn offers new membrane sheets as part of a bundle to keep the price down.
Along with extra reusable membranes, there are lots of different accessories available as pledge bundles. Such as pot holders, brush rests, and painting books to achieve the full glory of the palette.
Are you ambitious with your painting and want to go bigger? The XL version is available too, allowing you to paint through more miniatures, achieving less waste as much as possible!
The Kickstarter has 20 days left to go, only going live yesterday it has already blown the initial goal out of the water. So if you are looking for a new tool to add more efficiency into your paintwork - be sure to check out the new Kickstarter!

I was a fan of the OG palette but it was way to pricey. Today I’m totally in love with my Army Painter one and will stick with it. Mainly because it is small enough for my table and still big enough to be useful. But I see the appeal for pro painters or painting monsters with a huge output volume…
looks good.
I like my RGG Painter v1 and I have looked at the upgrade pledge here but can’t seem to find an answer anywhere about what the new membranes are made out of. I know we don’t talk about the environmental impact of our hobby often but if you can only reuse them a handful of times, the material needs to be something not awful for landfill before I’ll buy it. Bloody hippie that I am
I shall find out
Asking the tough questions that I’m just too lazy to have asked myself! Thanks Gerry!
Nice to see that its being made in Europe, rather than shipped half way around the world, hopefuly with a smaller enviromental impact.
I’m very happy with my RGG Painter V1. As I’m running out of membranes I’ll probably back this to get the upgrade kit. They have made some sensible changes and the new version looks to solve the minor quibbles I have with mine so I’d recommend to anyone who wants to get a good wet palette.
The V1 Paint pallet is probably my most used hobby tool, not the cheapest but I’ve really enjoyed using it alongside the painting handles.
I’ll be picking one up as the small improvements look worthwhile and having a second pallet would also be handy at times.
