6: Siege – The Board Game Storming Kickstarter This Summer

6: Siege - The Board Game, is the new Kickstarter project coming to the platform in Summer 2021 from Mythic Games. Based on the hit competitive video game Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Six: Siege, you'll take on a clash between Operators.
6: Siege - The Board Game // Mythic Games
In the board game adaptation, you'll take control of a team of five Operators (all attackers or all defenders) from Team 6, each with their own different gadgets and abilities which make them feel unique and interesting to play.
If you're attacking then you'll have to extract hostages, control vital spots on the map or maybe dispose of explosives. As the Defender, you'll be looking to keep ahold of the hostages, lockdown different areas of the map and get ready to detonate bombs! As a two-to-four player experience, this feels like it's going to be a fun tactical puzzle to face as either team!
We've yet to hear much more about the game as it stands but I would imagine we're going to see some nice looking miniatures (as is the way nowadays) and some intriguing mechanics. I am interested to see just how the gameplay loop plays out on the tabletop.

The dark side of special forces missions a great alternative to gaming experiences. or be the hero saving the hostages.
Mythic usually means good miniatures and a lackluster game. If these end up as 28mm then the figures might be useful for other games, but at 32mm not so much. I predict much hype, and late delivery.
Might be good? I kinda share the same point of view as tankkommander though. I hope it goes well, but I really don’t vibe with companies that use Kickstarter as an elaborate preorder system – that old argument. Best of luck to them though, I loved the game.
Play Spectre
Why not use Spectre or Black Ops rules and just create scenarios using those rules. The sale for this is the IP but I do not see anything here that cannot already be done with existing rulesets.
I guess the only benefit is everything is in a single box for people who not play tabletop wargames.
I will pass because you know it will be a $500 — $600 game with half baked rules and 6-8 month delay that will require a 1.5 version of the game to correct.
It looks like Mythic recently shipped a free (?) Errata Pack for Reich Busters. That follows on from the v1.5 of Joan of Arc. Maybe they will actually play test a game thoroughly before launching the KS for this game? But to be fair Mythic are not the only culprits, as Warlord had problems with SPQR game balance.
If it was a special forces game of fighting bad guys around the world, dusty towns, the deck of a oil tanker..I be 100% backing based on how good the rules are. But 5 vs 5 “Esport” fighting is not what I want. Let see when it drops.. and Yes Black Ops is a cracking game….
