Warhammer Animation Preview Coming This Weekend
May 18, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop is planning to give folks another look at their Warhammer Animation plans over the weekend. On Saturday 22nd May at 6pm BST you'll be able to follow along as they show off more of their plans for Hammer And Bolter and more.

The team are going to be "spilling the beans" on what's coming up for their Warhammer Animation team. If this is going to be another big preview event then that means at least thirty minutes or so dedicated to covering the topic so it's not going to be the flash in the pan that we've seen previous to this.
Games Workshop has recently been talking about all manner of animators and creators who have been coming on board and offering their skills towards expanding the Warhammer Animation offerings. We already know that the creator of Astartes is now part of their team for example.

One would imagine that we're going to be getting some details on when and where we're going to be able to watch Hammer And Bolter and whatever else follows in its wake. As I've said before, I really hope that these are going to end up on the likes of Prime or Netflix as I think it would be an excellent way to reach a broader audience. Just look at how well Castlevania, The Dragon Prince, DotA and Love, Death & Robots have been doing for a start!
I have my suspicions that we are going to be seeing these become available only through an avenue of Games Workshop's choosing though. What's the betting that they set up a Warhammer Animation/My Warhammer section of their website where you can pay to stream/download them? I'm not utterly adverse to them doing this but it would be yet another subscription for people to sign up for.

For those people asking for it to be free...do you realise animators, writers and artists have to be paid? I've already seen so many comments online from people asking for it to just be put on YouTube!?
I am very excited for Hammer And Bolter in particular. I love the art style they've gone for (see above) and I think it looks ten times better than the CGI offerings we've seen so far. I think that exaggerated American/Anime feel works very, very well for Warhammer, be it 40K or Age Of Sigmar. Talking of Age Of Sigmar, I hope we get some news on animations from that setting too!
Are you interested in what they pull out of their pocket this weekend?

Nope…. the music is an instant turn off… if that’s in the show I’m not watching it.
I would imagine that’s just the tune they’ve chosen for the preview. I don’t think that kind of music will be playing throughout each episode heh.
Possible but it’s the same level of annoying advertising like people on the streets yelling into your ear “THIS IS THE GREATEST”. This trailer tells me: “this show is not for you.”
To be fair Sundancer I would have been disappointed to see a GW Product and you not having a moan about it in some way 🙂
Yes I give G’Wullu a hard time. But they are “the big guy” in this industry and someone is bound to not like their stuff. That being said: I very much love the snotling Blood Bowl team which I have bought and painted. And that is what make me even more mad: I know they can do better. They just don’t care or want to…
I am sure I saw in an early reveal a Night Lord who may have been Talos from the ADB novels.
I also hope these find their way onto one of the existing streaming platforms. I cannot imagine GW will let this out for free, so selling them onto one of the big streamers would seem to make sense as opposed to GW trying to create their own platform which lets be honest won’t have a huge amount of content.
Going to be interesting to see what happens with this.
I don’t care about the art style, the music or the background. I always say YES to any animation, I just hope the plot meets the expectations.
I hope the show is better then the teaser animation and music would imply. Fingers crossed that they have a better representation this weekend.
Seems promising enough.
Ooh this looks fantastic I’ll be watching for this coming out.
I’ve no idea from this trailer how good this will be but this is not what i would have hoped for after hearing that Games Workshop has hired the people that bought me the likes of the (original) Astartes animation. (I think their contribution is more likely to be on ‘Iron Within’ and ‘Altar Of Wrath’.)
I wanted to say I had no interest in this because anime stuff I have never really go into we had cartoons and that was good enough. However I hate to admit this does look pretty interesting.
+1 for some AoS!
I really hope it doesn’t come to there own streaming services… there’s way to many of them already! Hope they either sell them to download like their Ebooks or sell the series to another streaming servie.
Also, like @andreuac7 says, let’s hope the plot is good!
Hi. Warhamer didn’t come to me, I tried to play but it didn’t work for me. I like cs go and dota more. By the way, this site https://wewatch.gg/ hosts many competitions and tournaments. I usually use this site to participate in various games and betting competitions to make a lot of money. I advise you to take a look at this site and learn more about it.
