Protect Your Merchant Convoy In Warlord’s Victory At Sea
May 5, 2021 by brennon
Warlord Games has now released some of the miniatures from their Merchant Convoy set separately for those who want to dive deeper into Victory At Sea. Three packs are now available offering up some ships for you to protect from Axis hunters!
SS Ohio Tanker // Victory At Sea
Taking part in Operation Pedestal, the SS Ohio was key to this effort. Commanded by Captain Dudley Mason, this ship was the biggest tanker of its day. It carried enough fuel to keep the operation going for months. It was armed with anti-aircraft guns, armoured plates so it could withstand torpedos and could brave even the most dangerous of seas.
As part of Operation Pedestal, the Ohio was joined by thirteen other merchant ships and sixty warships as they made the journey from Gibraltar to Malta. Whilst only five vessels made it, it was still considered a slim strategic success. You can aid the Ohio with two sets; Victory Ships and Liberty Ships.

All of these sets are available separately now from the Merchant Convoy set. This means you can use these packs to pick up the miniatures you're missing in smaller numbers or just add to what you already have.
Maybe you'll change the fortunes of the Ohio and the other ships included in this operation? I love the idea of having to concentrate on defeating the enemy and protecting these ships from submarines and dive bombers!
Are you tempted by these Victory At Sea packs?

Nice great for the Malta convoys (SS Ohio) game’s as well as Pacific routes.
Do they have rules for the attack cargo ships?
They’ll need to redesign their dinghy bases before I take them seriously.
The bases are terrible and this is what put me off adding these to my War at sea collection.
The bases really ruin the models for me. They completely dominate and overshadow the actual models.
Down with the terrible dinghy bases!
strangely I found the bases ok once painted and on the table.. and they suit my clumsy hands as well.
In fact I’m going to now put all my 28mm tanks on the same, think of the LOS advantage I’ll have!!
