Spring Greens by wrusher

We start with some work by wrusher as part of the Spring Cleaning Hobby Challenge. They have been working away on a force of Orcs from Warhammer Fantasy Battles and sprucing them up for the modern battlefield.

Orcs & Goblins #1 by wrusher

I am always happy to see these classics greenskins hitting the tabletop. I absolutely love the sculpts and it's excellent seeing them in that bright and lurid green. As part of the project, wrusher has been taking a lot of these old miniatures and sorting out their bases so that they all fit a similar theme.

Orcs & Goblins #3 by wrusher

A number of units have come together and got little updates here and there. I would say that for the most part, these plastic and metal Orcs are looking very good indeed. I would love to face them on the battlefield with my classic 8th Edition Dwarfs.

Orcs & Goblins #2 by wrusher

This project was a nice step down memory lane for me as I remember all of these miniatures from when I was growing up. It's neat seeing how each of them has been given a bit of a glam-up throughout the process. Something about the miniatures wishes we had them with Goblin Green rimmed bases though! Maybe it's best that style stayed in the past?

Anno Domini 1666 by innes

Next up, we're looking at some of the recent work by innes. Here, they have been taking some of the miniatures from the game Anno Domini and getting them painted up for the tabletop. I really like the variety of colours and characters that you've got with this miniatures collection.

AD1666 #1 by innes

The basing has been decided upon throughout this collection but I still wanted to highlight this collection as I think it has been finished off very well indeed. I like the use of nice contrasting colours throughout and some solid highlighting to make each of them pop.

AD1666 #2 by innes

There are lots of different factions within this collection and so it's good to see each of them has been given that dose of character. I also like that they have attempted (successfully) painting eyes AND getting their facial features to pop! I would never attempt that.

AD1666 #3 by innes

There is plenty more to check out from this project which also looks at a lot of other games and ranges too. For me though, the Anno Domini 1666 collection is where it's at and I would love to see more of these finished in the coming weeks. If I was going to give some tips on bases, I reckon some cobblestones and dirty paths would be pretty ideal.

15mm Infamy! Infamy! by civilcourage

The last project for this week, and by no means the least, is from civilcourage who has taken a journey back in time. These 15mm miniatures came as part of a Kickstarter from 3D Breed Miniatures and they are perfect for playing out games of Infamy! Infamy! Clearly, civilcourage has taken on board two of Warren's loves.

15mm Infamy #1 by civilcourage

In around two and a half hours the bulk of a force had been printed and civilcourage then took to painting them all up. I have to say that these are some of the best painted 15mm miniatures I have seen in a long time. I love the attention to detail, the shading, the facial details, the basing and pretty much everything about them.

15mm Infamy #2 by civilcourage

I think this smaller scale is perfect for 3D printing because you can get through so many of them in one batch. Also, the exaggerated details in these smaller sculpts come through very well and even when something gets muddle up, I don't think it shows as much as it would on a regular 28mm miniature.

15mm Infamy #3 by civilcourage

An absolutely stunning job from civilcourage and there is enough here to get me thinking about printing a smaller scale army of my own. I say me, I really mean Justin. I'm sure I could bribe him with something right?
