So I was going through some old boxes of *stuff* (Spring Clean Challenge!) and I came across this box of toy cyclists, picked up somewhere in France probably 25 or more odd years ago
Le PelotonAs well as being into this hobby, I am a keen cyclist and life long member of the Phoenix cycling club in Belfast. Way back when, I had evidently attempted to paint up one of these toys in my club colours.
The years have not been kind - but 14yo me was proud of this!Obviously the model is looking somewhat the worse for wear after all this time but this toy, along with a particular painting hanging in my parents hall gave me some inspiration. The club kit has undergone a number of redesigns over the years, with a few of them on display in said painting (my Dad is also a life long member – and I believe the painting was a gift for the work he did for the club). I decided I would pick out a few of the toys, strip them down and paint one up in each iteration of the kit
