What do you mean there is a post about Dwarves and Ben is not writing it?! It is not freaky Friday, and I may not be as much as a Dwarf fanatic as Ben is, but I certainly can share my excitement with you when a new Middle-Earth character joins the fray for Middle-Earth the Strategy Battle Game! And I can provide you with some backstory and lore on the two characters. Welcoming two brutal and powerful leaders for your forces.
King Dáin Ironfoot and Thorin III 'Stonehelm' // Middle Earth the Strategy Battle Game
Now available to purchase on Forge World, welcoming the Lord of the Dwarves of the Iron Hills and fifth King under the mountain himself: King Dáin Ironfoot and loyal, noble, brutal son and heir, Thorin III 'Stonehelm'.
If you are playing Middle-Earth the Strategy Battle Game, you will be well aware of the weight it holds be part of the infamous Durin bloodline. And these two friendlies are certainly forces to be reckoned with.
King Dáin Ironfoot // Middle Earth the Strategy Battle Game
Once Dáin succeeded Thorin Oakenshield's reign after the brutal Battle of the Five Armies, he took well earned royal responsibility from his cousin holding King Under the Mountain.
Yet not just dwarven-folk prospered under his reign. Under his ruling, he helped rebuild the town of Dale, creating harmonic allies with the men of Dale, and solidified and creating a bond with the Elves of Mirkwood.
His brutality has no ends, participating in over two century's worth of significant Dwarven battles, plunging his forces into victory time and time again. Little to say, King Dáin is an absolute tank.
The new miniature of King Dáin Ironfoot should not be overlooked, wielding his iconic Red Axe into battle and into the Third Age. Ready to lead the forces of Erebor into the War of the Ring, putting that Ironfoot into use, prepared to fight off any army brave enough to stand in his warpath.
Thorin III 'Stonehelm' // Middle Earth the Strategy Battle Game
Heir to the throne of Erebor, and Son of King Dáin Ironfoot, Thorin III Stonehelm has an incredibly strong bond with his father and adapted his brutality in battle.
Whilst defending Dale and Erebor alongside his father and King of the Bardings - Brand - during the War of the Ring against a mighty hoard of Easterlings, Brand sadly fell in battle protecting the gates of Erebor due to the overwhelming hoard of enemies.
They quickly become overrun, with fear of losing their mountainous kingdom. Whilst King Dáin fought hard to protecting Brand's body, he sadly fell in battle too. Providing Thorin III with the earned title of King Under the Mountain whilst enduring constant attack.
Thorin III Stonehelm protected his kingdom and people providing enough time for the allied Soldiers of Rhûn to fight back against the Easterlings, for them to never return to the mountain again.
It is amazing seeing other sides of the War of the Ring come together! There was so much happening in Middle Earth at the time, it's wonderful to see the stories of these legends outplay on the tabletop.
Bring on the Dwarves!
