I am always up for a quick card game. I find with a lot of tabletop games - they do eat up a fair bit of time. Not just in gameplay but in preparation too. Sometimes I just like to get in a quick round or two of something fast-paced, such as Marvel Champions or if I am in a party environment, Exploding Kittens.

Yet, there is a new card game on my radar! And it is up on Kickstarter now smashing through individual stretch goals at a fast pace. Incoming Bone to Pick published by Lycan Studio, a quick semi-cooperative party game, with several different game modes including a campaign - all of which to take down the pesky undead. If you are familiar with Shardhunters and Ausonia - you will love the idea of Bone to Pick.

In quickplay - the aim of the game is simple. You will work alongside other players to take down ten different undead characters. These undead characters all have different difficulties and different health and damage stats to pay attention to. As there are so many different variations of the undead - it will be highly unlikely that you will come up against the same ones as you are picking from a 40 card deck.

As a player, you will need to attack with your own deck. However, what you deal is down to the luck of the shuffle. Once the Undead card is placed and drawn, all players will be required to draw face-down from their own pile, for all cards to be turned over at the end of play. This will calculate whether you are strong enough to take down the card, and the person with the highest damage will accept that undead card as a trophy. This will be rinse and repeat for the remaining enemies on the Undead Pile.

The box includes a 40-minute campaign too, including bosses, events, pets, support and playable characters! So you do not need to stop at quickplay. I love the idea of this, as you can get your practice in during quickplay to get used to the game mechanics and cards ready for the campaign.

The Kickstarter still has 13 days left to go, it has already been funded and there are some really cool additions to the game with some unlockable stretch goals.

What is your favourite fast-paced card game?
