Mantic Games has added four new ships to their webstore for you to use in their naval Fantasy wargame, Armada. Each of the four factions to date is getting their BIG ships which can be used to turn the opposition into driftwood.

Basilean Dictator - Armada

Basilean Dictator // Armada

Leading the way, we have the absolutely huge Basilean Dictator. As you can see, these ships are absolutely massive next to some of the existing vessels in the game. They are a massive sink in terms of points but you get plenty back in terms of firepower and brute force. The Dictator can also be used as the named vessel, the Hegemon’s Fury thanks to the additional card in the set.

We've seen a Human/Basilean option and that means we should move on to the Orc one next! Here comes the monstrous Orc Ripper Hulk!

As well as being designed to blow a hole in the most armoured of ships, a Ripper Hulk also does what it says on the tin. It could very easily carve its way through an enemy ship, even one of the Dwarfen ones! Much like with the Basilean ship above, the Ripper Hulk can also be built as the Maul if you prefer.

If you prefer your sailors to be undead then you can also call on the power of The Empire Of Dust. They have a new ship, the Monolith.

Again, it's cool to see all the cannons on the deck and the oars which are churning through the sea too. I also like that they went full ostentatious with the design here. This is effectively a floating temple and I think it looks epic. This can also be made into the named ship, Shobik’s Wrath.

The last of the ships is for the mighty fleets of the Dwarfs. Here we have the Dreadnought which is going to blast its way through the puny wooden ships of their opponents.

Dwarf Dreadnought - Armada

These ships are all available in resin and come with some alternative parts which can be used to turn them into their named variants. It is very cool to see Armada getting more love from Mantic as they are the only ones really staking a claim in the Fantasy Naval Warfare genre.

One day we'll get back Uncharted Seas! Until then, I am tempted to get my hands on one of those Dwarf fleets.

Which of these big ships has caught your eye?
