Create Constellations With Tiles In The Girl Who Made the Stars
April 12, 2021 by fcostin
I could look at the stars all night. I seem to be hypnotised by constellations and the myth behind every ball of light creating a beautiful constellation. In The Girl Who Made the Stars, the night sky is yours to interpret, and the layout of the stars becomes your responsibility. And for those like me that like games to chill and enjoy without becoming increasingly stressed throughout, looks like another game for me on a chilling Sunday!
The Girl Who Made The Stars // Final Frontier Games
The Girl Who Made the Stars is based around the time period where the first of humanity was walking the earth. The nights were pitch black as no constellations painted the night sky, and the future of the village was in peril due to foraging at night would prove too dangerous. One day, a young girl who was a villager grew tiresome of the repeated nature of the long, dangerous nights. For the survival of her village, she painted the sky with ash and root to form what we call the Milky Way, and lots of other stars to bring her village out of the darkness.

A player would need to take the role of a village elder, where they would provide wisdom to the village from all new constellations formed. Players will need to use their tiles to flip and rotate them to create constellations. You will use that light to find distant lands that you can forage and send your villagers to collect resources, gaining light for the village to travel further from the encampment.
As villagers too, you will need to seek out what was once dark with the illumination overhead. In search for fish, fruit and smaller game to return with the resources. The more this is done, the more reputation you will gain.
The mechanic of the game is a worker placement/tile-laying puzzle game, and three other players can join you on this night sky adventure too! The difference is, that the player who earns the most reputation becomes the winner.
There is also another star-themed Kickstarter available in the same listing too named Solani, a tile-laying drafting game for 1-4 players.
What other space-themed games do you enjoy?
