How do you get yourself immersed in your favourite RPG world? So you have an amazing gamemaster that paints a picture for you? Do you use music to add to your game? First They Came by Chaos League brings us a new way of immersing yourself, with a blindfold being tied around your eyes at the start of an emotional campaign.

First They Came // Chaos League

Place yourself in Berlin of 1942 in a dreary apparent embedded in a suburban area. You take the role of those who suffered at the hands of the Nazi regime. You can hear the sirens blaring and hide in fear towards the dark and lonesome attic. You are being searched for and can hear everything that is happening around you, but throughout this experience, you are not the only person to be hiding in the attic.

You gain a real immersive insight into the history, allowing yourself to feel and take a glimpse into those who were persecuted for ethnic, political, gender and religious beliefs.

First They Came // Chaos League

The game is designed to be completely immersive, therefore you will need to put aside 2-3 hours for up to 3-5 players, all you would simply need is a device that plays the MP3, and you are good to go - so games masters can take a rest on this one.

With the help from MP3 any device and a decent set of headphones, players will be guided into an attic where they will have 45 minutes to determine their fate. Included in these sound recordings is your narrative, and sound effects which will allow you to feel involved in the time era and the events which are unfolding. If you are not keen on being blindfolded, you can always sit in a dark room to get the same effect!

First They Came seems like much more of a touching human experience that you will need to undergo in a calmer atmosphere, rather than sit around drinking with your usual bunch of drunkards on your weekly RPG adventure. As you will need to be concentrating on your atmosphere around you, and not worrying about what chaos your friends will be sticking to you when you are blindfolded!

This certainly sounds like an interesting experience combining the RPG aspect with the blindfold, which I can imagine will cause lots of emotional triggers for some and incredible insight to history for all.

Are there any other historical events you would like to immerse yourself in?
