Pencil First Crowdfund Floriferous; A Calm Game Of Arranging Flowers
April 2, 2021 by fcostin
It is no secret that I love board and card games that keep me "zen". So I often keep my eyes open for games to play on a Sunday in my comfy PJs, with a hot choccy in hand, before the crazy week starts again on Monday!

Herbaceous was a game that I purchased a while back in about 2018. 1-4 players would get together and calmly collect and plant a wide range of herbs in their own personal garden. The aim of the game is to gain the most valuable collection of herbs by the end. Whoever has the best collection would win. Simples. This is a game that has had a reoccurring space in my Sunday board game sesh for a while now.
To my delight, Pencil First Games - the people who bought us Herbaceous is now developing Floriferous, a relaxing game of picking, pairing, and arranging flowers. And it is live on Kickstarter now.
The game is really quick to pick up. Players will need to collect followers, and by arranging them and engaging with cards: the winner with the most victory points will be crowned triumphant.
There is also a mini-expansion available as part of one of the pledges and aptly named the 'Early Spring' mini-expansion, just as Spring has sprung here in merry ol' England. This mini-expansion will add more actions to ultimately add more movements to the game.
The artwork is absolutely stunning. I am a sucker for pastels and watercolours, and game artist Clémentine Campardou has done a fantastic job at capturing the calming theme of the game consistently throughout the cards.
