Another pirate from Tale of War. Jimy Jokins also by Simon Remis, I believe.

Also from the Ron & Bones range, another cool pirate. Pier del Mocho, I believe sculpted by Simon Remis.

Tales of War also had a pirate range for a game called Ron & Bones. Not sure if it is the same under Coolminiornot these days.

The miniatures were all in that 32 to 35mm size, excelent sculpts in a very cartoony style that reminds you of the Monkey Island fantastic series of videogames.

I believe the original mini is by Simon Remis, but I can be mistaken.

This Red Riding Hood has a machine gun and seems to be friends with the big bad wolf! What a twist!

Not sure who the sculptor was on this one and I cant seem to find the card that came with it. This company always credited both the sculptor and the boxart painter, wich is something I find every other company should do.

I’m not sure if this model was from the same range as the other Fairy Tale minis, but it sort of fits in, really. It’s a very nice and sexy looking witch, called Gabrielle Lunardiente. The pumpkins and the caudron I added with Greenstuff, as I painted this during Halloween aeons ago. Kinda like the pumpkins, the cauldron not so much. It was a nice idea, but not executed very well. It might get replaced with candles or something. One day.

This next one is from their alternate fairy tale range: Princess Rapunzel.

In this version, though, Rapunzel doesn’t have golden hair and doesnt really need a saving prince all that much. She can clearly take care of business and save herself from the tower, leaving a bloodbath behind.

I fear for the poor witch who imprisoned her, really!

I got a bunch of others, like Snowhite, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, and maybe a couple more.

Unfortunatelly, never got to complete the whole collection and I dont believe the company still exists.

Its a shame, as they made really good stuff, very original and different from what you could find at the time.

A long time ago, this was possibly 11 or 12 years ago, maybe more, there was this spanish company called Tale of War producing some really lovely metal miniatures in 32mm. They had a bunch of your typical fantasy things, but at that time they started a few ranges that really caught my eye. They were somewhat  cartoonish depictions of historic characters and a really outstanding ‘alternative’ fairy tale characters that I still absolutely adore to this day.  They also made Ron and Bones, wich was eventually sold to CMoN, I think.

This mini here is one of their cartoonish version of historic characters, a Crusader. I dont think I own them, but they had all sorts, from Gauls to Romans, Gladiators and Samurai, all amazing looking in my opinion.

This one is a Templar, Arn of Gothia, wich I believe there is a movie about. Sculpted by incredibly talented Ivan Santurio.
