The first expansion to Ecos: First Continent published by AEG is now available to purchase in FLGS stores worldwide. Ecos: New Horizons is ready to come to a tabletop near you with new features for you to expand your ecosystem and pick up some new wildlife along the way.

If you haven't played the core game Ecos: First Continent before, the base game gives 2-6 players the chance to create their own world by having control over the ecosystem. Controlling the landscape, habitats and inhabitants of the world around stretching from the jungle to the sea and all that dwells within.

The expansion inflates the game, giving the board more engaging features to add to the base. With new iconic landscapes including Mount Kilimanjaro, new animals alike the Nile Crocodile to increase your population, and a brand new card mechanic.

This new card mechanic allows players to engage with the new landscape features, allowing the interaction to have a unique effect on gameplay and the choices made throughout the game.

As somebody who quite enjoyed controlling the ecosystem as a child in the likes of Viva Pinata with my hands clutching an XBOX controller, the concept of the game is something that really excites me. Ecos: First Continent and its expansion New Horizons brings not only a chance for players to become aligned with nature and the understandings of what it takes to create a successful ecosystem, but it can provide board gamers more of a chance to learn about the flora and fauna of the world around us, without hopping on a plane to Africa!

What do you think of the new expansion?
