March 29, 2021 by brennon
The time has finally come. Well, sort of. This weekend sees the pre-orders for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City going up live on Games Workshop and of course at independent gaming stores. You'll be able to dive into the trials of Ulfenkarn as you tackle Radukar The Wolf and his followers.

In Warhammer Quest: Cursed City, you'll take on the role of one of eight heroes in a cooperative adventure game. The city of Ulfenkarn has been overrun by the forces of Radukar The Wolf and now his Thirsting Court holds sway over those mortals who are left within its walls. Undead stalk the streets (and worse) and you'll have to come together to defeat these evils and cleanse the city!

With a fascinating array of characters for you to choose from, drawn from across The Mortal Realms, the game also comes with a suite of rogues for you to battle. You've got the new Deathrattle Skeletons, loads of Deadwalker Zombies and even some zombie Ogors!
Learn To Play // Warhammer Quest: Cursed City
It's hard not to be won over by the look and feel of Cursed City. Games Workshop look to have peered back at The Old World and taken plenty of inspiration from it. If you're someone who hasn't been able to get on board with the aesthetic of Age Of Sigmar before, maybe this could change your mind.
Cursed City Novel
As well as the story unfolding inside the box for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City, there is also a new book by C.L Werner for you to delve into.

The hardback version of the book is going to be available to pre-order this weekend. Inside, you'll meet another character by the name of Morrvahl Olbrecht and see how your heroes came together before the events of the game.
If you get the hardback or Limited Edition of the book (see below) you'll also get a hero card for Morrvahl Olbrecht which can be used in the game. He doesn't play well with others but he has some powerful abilities which could turn the tide.

I am very much into this game and will be dropping a pre-order this weekend. I think the miniatures look great, the art is fantastic and I think it could be a lot of fun to play with friends once we get out of lockdown here in the UK.
With a few weeks before we can play games inside, I've got time to paint up everything! I reckon that I'll also get myself the book so I've got something to read when my fingers get tired of holding a paintbrush.
Are you sold on Warhammer Quest: Cursed City?

Pre-order at 10:00:01 before it sells out to scalpers. It’s toy soldiers and I don’t need the fear of missing out. I’ll pass, thanks.
Good luck to those who are going for it though. The minis are amazing.
If they handle this like Blackstone Fortress, they’ll probably release the minis separately for those who want to buy them without the whole board game they come packaged with. I personally like the new witch hunter, but I’m not about to drop a couple hundred bucks for one mini and a bunch of other stuff I wouldn’t use.
I think that’s true but I’m out already. There’s enough stuff I can get without being made to jump through hoops for a new GW release.
(Ok it’s not out yet and maybe they’ll prove me wrong HAHAHAH)
I can’t imagine anyone who isn’t into the GW style of things wanting to buy this game to be honest. The heroes lack the one thing that sells their job to the uninitiated. And I think even fans of AoS will have a hard time explaining who is who … It is an interesting style that’s for sure. And part of it reminds me of the ancient gothic horror themed images that Warhammer Fantasy had in some of its books (Realm of Chaos in particular). The box does have a few very pretty models that could be useful outside of… Read more »
A fabulous looking game & figures but I’ll pass on this one.
All those people waiting with bated breath over when this thing will finally release, only to have it be a limited stock. So half of them will have to get it in May or June at the earliest. Such garbage. I’m going to try to pre-order on their website and then see if I can split up and sell the minis on eBay for a profit. GW wants scalping, I hope we get more of it, indeed it’s not even scalping at some point. If you caught Derek Jeter’s last home run ball you probably wanted to keep it, but… Read more »
