Welcome to the dream, Hunters. The new Bloodborne: The Board Game by CMON has now released, and there are already lots of game additions and expansions available to add to your core box. I wanted to take an in-depth look at what inside of one of the expansions, The Hunters Dream and how this adds to the core game adventure.

Bloodborne: The Board Game // CMON

In Bloodborne the video game, the Hunter's Dream is a location that works as the central hub throughout the game. Players can travel to any lamps that have been activated from this area, which is pretty handy considering the difficulty of the game - and the amount I died accessing different lamps!

The area contains The Hunter's Workshop which is the only place in the game where Hunters can access their storage and repair and upgrade their weapons. It is also home to a few in-game freaky-looking characters to engage with throughout the story.

Knowing this, I was keen to explore what the Hunter's Dream expansion would bring to the board game.

The Hunter's Dream expansion itself is not really an expansion if you are looking for a new campaign to embark on. It is similar to the video game providing you with extras features to enhance the core game.

The expansion works like a plug-in that will add more challenges and extending possibilities to any campaign that is included in the core box and other expansions. The box also adds an extra chapter at the end too. Along with that, you gain new enemy cards and a double-sided tile to incorporate into the core game.

And of course, the most exciting part of the expansion (for me) is the fantastic set of monstrous miniatures that comes inside.

You can get your hands on two Executioners, two Winter Lanterns, seven enemy hunters, one Gehrman and one Moon Presence which both act as your boss figures.

Would you like more features looking at the other Bloodborne: The Board Game expansions?
