Draw Energy From The Moonlight In Photosynthesis’ First Expansion
March 12, 2021 by fcostin
Head back to nature but experience it's goodness after dark, as Blue Orange Games brings the first-ever expansion to the award-winning board game Photosynthesis with Under the Moonlight.
Under The Moonlight Expansion // Photosynthesis
If you are new to Photosynthesis, the goal to the game is simple. You transform the beautiful overarching sun into energy, to allow your plants to grow around you. Simples right? Absolutely. But players must be tactical at where they plant their trees, when they are harvesting and replanting as the sun does move, and logical decisions need to be made to earn optimal energy. The winner is the player with the most energy after three solar cycles.
Under The Moonlight Expansion // Photosynthesis
In the Under the Moonlight Expansion, players will be working as the moonlight peers deeply into woodland, causing the atmosphere to change and new rules and features to be added to the base game.
As there is a new atmosphere in the forest, the nocturnal animals are keen to see what magic is arising along the Great Elder Tree. Collect Lunar energy of a night time to gain the assistance of the woodland critters. Hedgehogs, foxes, owls and many more generate special abilities to allow you to strategically progress in the game.

As the player collects Lunar Points, they will be required to place their animal near a moonstone as it travels around the earth. Alike the core game, players will need to use their wit to use the animal's abilities at the correct time to ensure maximum output to reap the rewards.
The expansion Under the Moonlight will be released here in Europe this month, so if you are in America, be sure to let us know below what you think of the new expansion.
