About the Project

I have been waiting for Dystopian wars to come out ever since I saw it at Salute many moons ago. I didn't get into it the first time round so I am coming at this one fresh and must say I do like the starter set.

This Project is On Hold

Finally finished these up, painted using mainly the same colours as before although I have used cobalt blue on the imperium airships as well

I thought the crown were lacking in carrier capacity so I’ve added the victory battlefleet. Painted the same scheme as the others, the first images shows the paint scheme prior to having Nuln Oil splashed all over it.

I thought I would try and get what I already had for dystopian wars finished before the new sturginium skies turns up. I had the Ice maiden box, the britannia battlefleet and the crown support squadrons.

All the turrets are magnetized and other parts are just friction fitted to allow that changing of the fleet make up.

So I have just finished these and sturginium skies has arrived today along with the victory battlefleet.

For these babies the main hull is leadbelcher with the decking getting a coat of Balor Brown, with the prow getting some retributor armour and the stern painted with Canoptek Alloy and some of the pipes being brassy brass.

The whole thing then got a coat of neat agrax earthshade, the red stars are Mephiston Red, and the blue domes are akhelian green over a layer of chrome and the red weapon highlights are flesh tearers red.

The base colour is model air chrome, with stripes of scale 75 colbalt alchemy and black metal, and the red decking on the big ships is Khorne Red. The whole thing is washed with 50/50 mix of Nuln Oil and acrylic medium.

The green glow is painted white and then tesseract glow followed by a green wash and the engines had a coat of aethermatic blue of the chrome.

Magnets are us

I have finally finished the paint job on the fleets from the starter box, apart from some varnish.

They are all magnetised so the turrets swap out and on then enlightened the centre and rear turret of the cruisers can also be swapped out. I couldn’t figure an easy way to magnetise the commonwealth cruisers so you can swap the hull around so I just made those as 3 Kutsovs, a Norlisk and a Sineus. I could find any where which said what to make but I see on the Dystopian Wars web site they now have a guide.
