The Cococuqui - Ladies of the Jungle
Forethought and pre-planning. This might just work
Preparing for the mass of painting that I’ll be doing I might as well get some initial ideas down. I haven’t purchased the book “Armies, Legions & Hordes” but maybe I should. Having gotten “Terrain Essentials” from Mel the Terrain Tutor’s KS I think that having some hard copy reference material would be good around my workshop (just my bedroom but who needs more space?).
I’ll be using a general paint scheme that I used on my Amazons from Aengland in order to keep it cohesive. The figures are from the same creator so I’ll be able to slide them in without issue. I won’t need to bother Blinky465 for printing unless I think I might need another dino. The benefit to having been on the KS was the release of .stl files for at home building. I doubt I’ll jump onto that as I believe there are plenty of things here that will keep my attention going for some time. I do think though that there is some merit in looking into options that might allow cross faction builds from Great Kingdoms/Lords of the Wild/The Horde. I wholeheartedly believe that the present minis agnostic trend of gaming is the future. The opportunity for people to play as they will with what they have and not be locked into a single faction unless dropping metric butt-tonnes (difficult to convert to imperial measure but manageable) of cash. This kind of gaming is doing for tabletop skirmish games what GURPS did for rpgs (minus all the calculation).
- Considering the bright and poppy nature of my Arabian Knights akin to a Pollock painting for each and every figure I think that here the simple colors that unite the army is what will work
- The muted neutral tones will balance out the darker skin tones/turquoise armor bits and allow for other outrageous ones to flourish
- Special units will have significantly more attention paid to them in basing to say “I’m important!” and their colors/patterns will be vibrant as to vie for attention outside of the greater army as a whole
This all being said I will probably regret some of the massive announcement and undertaking later. Eh *shrug* who knows. This might actually work out to be pretty damn spiffy in the end.
