19 Kingdoms Hits Kickstarter Running
September 21, 2014 by stvitusdancern
19 Kingdoms has come to Kickstarter and it has a unique twist to it.
According to the website they will only be releasing 200 of each character mini. Which leads me to ask, how many copies of the game will they be making? They go on to say they are doing this to keep the game lively and ever changing.
As Ben reported on the miniatures earlier this summer, all I can add is that they do like nice and I agree with him, it would be nice to see some of them painted. up. So the premise of this game is that you use deckbuilding along with exploration in your adventures while building up your characters.
I have to say the intro video on the Kickstarter page is pretty funny, I would just like to see more actual game play video.
Is 19 Kingdoms for you?

Just to clarify for you all. We are only making limited editions of each mini (characters) not the game or faction numbers.
If you have any questions about gameplay, please email us! We would be happy to answer any questions you may have 🙂
Sticking the word “limited edition” in at such an early stage is a bit off-putting to me and I doubt I’m the only one discouraged.
Good luck with the Kickstarter but I won’t be playing.
Hmmm – 115 CAD is about 65 GBP… including shipping to UK.
May be worth a look, although with Myth, Mercs:Recon, Demigods and Dungeon Saga backed can I justify another mini-based boardgame?
😛 spoil yourself coxjul!
We are only making editions of 200 because all our minis are resin cast and that gives us the lovely advantage of doing limited runs of each character. It in no ways means the game or faction is of limited numbers.
I like having different minis to other people. It’s nice having something unique. So this is the reason for limited editions. Hope that puts your mind at ease.
If you have any questions or reservations we would love to hear from you.
To clarify, there are some painted examples of the minis on the kickstarter page.
This certainly has an interesting aesthetic, the characters have a very distinctive design – very oriental in flavour, and having lived in asia I can see some of the references in there of asian folklore. (Please, if you are reading this 19kingdoms, add a ‘Kumiho’ 9-tailed fox, who of course transforms into an alluring lady at whim!)
Also like that this is a genuine KS in that, without this funding, the project won’t go ahead. Having the rules accessibly immediately is a good idea also.
A nine tailed fox is something that is in the works, as is a “rokurokubi” for the same Shonan faction.
Thanks for your nice comments too! 🙂
@pacific thank you, I did see the pictures of the painted miniatures after I went back to the Kickstarter to read updates/comments.
