Meet Warhammer Quest: Cursed City’s Torgillius The Chamberlain
February 19, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop has continued with their Cursed City Crier previews this week and revealed to us another villain, Torgillius The Chamberlain. Meet one of the sinister figures you'll be meeting as you dive back into Warhammer Quest soon.
Torgillius The Chamberlain // Warhammer Quest: Cursed City
Torgillius was a member of an order known as the Pact Mortalis when Ulfenkarn was still a pleasant place to visit. As with many who seek power and knowledge, he soon turned his back on them and sought terrible secrets. He began to experiment with grave-sand phylacteries and then joined the vampires who now dominate the city.
Torgillius' magic has made it so that his master can deflect wounds that would normally bring him low. As well as that, Torgillius can project his will into the snarling creatures that stalk the streets of Ulfkarn so that he can spy on interlopers like our heroes!
Experimentation is always on Torgillius' mind and whilst he will often send underlings to hunt down his subjects, he does occasionally walk the streets himself in search of the ideal candidate. He will no doubt have all manner of spells at the ready to combat those who would test his magical might.
I do really like the miniature for Chamberlain here which, once again, gives me vibes of Mordheim and the City Of The Damned. The raven, candle and notes nailed to his backboard take me back to the black and white illustrations which you can find scrawled into the margins of the Mordheim rulebook.
As it stands, Warhammer Quest: Cursed City is looking great (at least in terms of the miniatures) and I am eager to learn more of gameplay.
What do you think?

That looks very nice even with face that only his mother could love.
He looks like a friendly fellow.
It’s yee-old Erebus? A Fantastic looking dark wizard.
Torgillius’s friends became concerned when he stopped eating and started wearing a hat stand.
That pet at his feet looks like an evil Raccoon for me. I am very pleased 🙂
Knowing GW naming for Age of Sigmar it’s probably an Aspartame Quiltimax or some such gubbins!
LOL I think it’s supposed to be a necromantically-corrupted wolf, but an evil raccoon fits the theme very well!
Someone need to explain to GW that sometime less is more.
The theme with this one is crazy strong, in a good way.

Yea, and it’s great to see that moody atmosphere being utilized again here. I’m really yearning for this one to come out. I want to see . . . what’s in the box?!
I like him… although I’ll likely choke on the price.
