Priming

Since I took the pic in the previous post I spent an evening priming everything that was bare metal. There are many moments/stages in the hobbying process that I find particularly gratifying: getting minis assembled is one, having a solid basecoat on is another, finishing the final highlights and seeing a mini really come to life is another. I noticed last night that priming is another, particularly priming with an airbrush (and a hairdryer–an essential tool in the process). When the shine dies down and you can really see the detail it’s exciting.

I will also say that CB’s sculpting and keying of minis has improved leaps and bounds over the years. Priming everything it was pretty clear which figures were early CB sculpts and which were more recent. I was also reminded of the wailing and gnashing of teeth while assembling the early ones and the really straightforward gluing from the new sculpts.

So good on you Corvus Belli! Keep the minis coming (though my wallet and my groaning shelves say otherwise).
